Just Juve playing at brinkmanship. That's what was holding the transfer up so much - Juve were gambling that as it got closer to the deadline we would blink and cave in to paying the agent's fee in order to avoid missing out. That's probably why we were linked with Maitudi, Sissoko, Payet, James and so many other players - the board sent a signal to Juve that we weren't going to be ****ed over. And it worked.
When it came down to actually having to honour their deal with the agent, Juve wanted to renege. That's what held the deal up while they waited for United to agree to pay all or some of the agent's fee. I suspect that Poga returned from holiday and told the club he was leaving whether they liked it or not so Juve had to give in and agree to pay the money they contractually owed the agent.
That's assuming there's anyone left to buy his shirt. Apparently we've sold several million Zlatan shirts already, so Pogba may soon be even more annoyed Juve held up his transfer!
Not quite - Higuain cost €90 mill but Juve only banked €72.6 mill from Pogba. So they've paid out almost €20 mill to switch one for the other...
That what i said right at the start of this thread. To have the most expensive player on earth had to come at a price but the club will exploit that fact to its limits. I'd be most surprised if United didn't make a net profit from this purchase. Although that's not the point of buying him.
if 28 yo Higuain cost £75m, then Pogba price is right and as ridiculous the money paid is, is better than keeping it in the pocket of a$$h*** owners i read we will get 40m profit this year from pogba deal on marketing alone, so why not ?
City lead the way in Manchester again by showing how to get transfer business done without embarrassing rap videos and all the crap thats been in the media
It is a fact And trust me, Ive no issue with you signing Pogba, he is good but all that cash. Jose just living up to his name I suppose, I think the whole thing has been quite desperate tbh
That what makes this buy outstanding. Not being afraid to seem desperate. Oh wait, United will actually make a profit from this so the club is happy to be desperate ...
If you think 34 mill is closer to 40 than 30 then fill your boots! I suppose a few million here and there doesnt really mean much anymore though
I'm using the not606 rule of thumb here, patented by Astro and Deidrie. Take the fee, add as much as you like, state it as #fact.
