I know aint it shocking that a guy goes to a new job for more money, what has the world come to!!! If only football players could have the same morals as us supporters who only work for the love of the job and would never dream of leaving our current employer for a job with better conditions. What a twat!!
Going to West Ham from Swansea is such a sideways move for him there is very little between us you know well apart from European football finishing 15 points above us last season oh and maybe playing in front of 50,000 fans every home game. Yep West Ham what the **** is he doing!!!! :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Totally agree. Expecting footballers to be as loyal as the fans is laughable because that's not how it works. It's a job with a limited shelf life - a VERY limited shelf life. Was it Ayew's choice? Yes. Did he do a job for us very professionally? Yes. Good luck to him. We've got a decent sum for him and the merry-go-round continues.

Remember, it doesn't always work out for players after they leave us - Bony, Michu, Robinson, Pratley, De Vries etc. so we sometimes have a wry smile at their expense anyway.

Ok my take on the Ayew deal for what it is worth. I think making 20m on a player makes sense, I also believe it sends out a bad message that Swansea are prepared to sell our perceived best players to anyone in and around us. We have until last season always finished above West Ham, (I think I am right there) yet they come calling and we sell to what I would consider a rival of ours in the Pl, I get that he may not have suited our style and that on the surface it is a good deal for us, I just worry a little that if WBA or Stoke or the like come calling next season say for Borja (if we sign him) and offer good money we let him go, just to make a quick buck. If the decision was made for footballing reasons along with the financial gain I get it, if it is just to make 20m then I think it sends out a bad message regarding us now being a selling club to clubs who we should be competing with.

So he is gone and we move on and I am not sure we will miss him as a winger, but may well for his goals. I just hope LLorente and whoever and if we bring in another striker, will get us the 12 goals he got us last season.

My take on this and all transfers, we will sell players on if it makes financial sense, and all teams around us do the same, for example Southampton selling players to Liverpool, then Liverpool selling Allen to Stoke, these 3 teams are around us and selling to each other. Why should we be any different?

Every player has a price no matter who they are or which team is buying or selling. With Ayew his contract probably had a release clause set at over £20m, hence I think the odd number he was sold at, for those criticising Huw over this, they should realise we took a gamble with this player, and it has worked out for the club.

So much for ambition. Everton is a sideways step, in terms of footballing reasons. They are no better than us!

I could understand if it was Arsenal.

Let's hope we get as close to £15 million as possible,

I am staggered that we did this, what happens if the Borja deal falls through. I hope it doesn't, then it is panic stations for a change.

Well, I'm sad to see Ayew leave, but I do understand the various viewpoints being enhanced that may, or may not, justify his departure,
Perhaps he was just passing through; needs a new challenge, or, as has been mentioned above, a release clause was triggered.
He's a class player, and we were fortunate to have him on board. He certainly contributed enormously to last season's cause.

The Club's Management are to be complemented for, a) bringing him to Swansea, and, b) earning the Club a considerable sum of money via his move to WHU.
It was a solid piece of business.

I'm sure Ayew will do well at his new Club, and he leaves Swansea City with his reputation enhanced, and the best wishes of this poster, and many others.

So it's onwards, and hopefully upwards, for The Swans', as a new season beckons.

    COYS.

You could say the same for Ayews move, but it seems we like the money coming in at the moment, I actually think 15m if we get it for a 32 year old is not bad business, but we must go and sign another first choice centre half. We can not go in to the season with 3. An injury and a suspension and we would be up **** street.
