Oddly in todays Echo they have Rodwell claiming that his future may well lie as a defender, either at Centre Back or Full Back. Call me picky, but at least one of these stories just has to be round spherical objects. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...e-reveals-position-he-wants-to-play-1-8055501 Rodwell aims to revive Sunderland career under Moyes as he reveals position he wants to play Richard Mennear Email 07:00 Monday 08 August 2016 28 Jack Rodwell has revealed that he sees his long-term future at centre-back and is targeting a permanent switch in positions. The 25-year-old has struggled in Sunderland’s midfield since his £10million move from Manchester City two years ago.But he has proved his versatility in pre-season, filling in at right-back as well as central defence as he looks to revive his career under David Moyes. Rodwell is happy to play in any position for now but over the next couple of seasons he is targeting a move back to centre-half – his boyhood position. Moyes gave Rodwell his break as a 16-year-old when the pair were at Everton – and the midfielder believes the Scot is the man to unlock his potential.“Yeah, I think he can,” Rodwell told the Echo when asked whether Moyes can get the best out of him.“I do believe I am naturally a centre-half, but whether he chooses to play me there this season, or if he starts me in midfield, then he knows I can fill those other positions.“That is good for me and the team. “He knows I can fill in at right-back now too.“Hopefully, ideally within the next few years, I would like to step back to centre-half, whether it is this season or not, I am happy to play anywhere for the team.“The manager has played me right-back and centre-back and I have played midfield too.“He knows me well, has known me since I broke through at 16 and I can play those positions and feel comfortable; I was a natural centre-back. Photos emerging of Kone in Liverpool last night posing with an Everton fan. Don't know how valid they are . Let's hope it's all bullshit.
It's all over the net. I reckon we should hold out for £25m or just refuse to let him go! Bit like what Everton did with Stones last year.
Do what everyone else does and go stupid with pricing, if they want him that bad then make sure they spend big on the lad. Stick a 30m price on his head and don't budge, he is on a 4 year contract so we have all the cards. If they don't like it then they can go fook themselves.
I heard or read somewhere that Moyes is supposed to have enquired about bodies coming in the opposite direction so that will be Mc'Geady, Hibbert and Doris the tea lady joining us in return. Edit : sorry forgot the training ground cat as well
Cant argue with that Vince, must be something going on behind the scenes for it to be dragging on like this.
who knows what is going on mate, i would have thought it would have been a done deal by now. Must say M'vila is being very patient in it all as well.
Apparently the Pogba transfer could have been concluded weeks ago, but his agents demands were holding up the transfer! Agents have way to much power now when transfers can't go through because of them parasites. M'Vila patience is what's telling me that everything is okay with this deal. It is just being held up for some reason. He'll sign in the next couple of days so he's registered in time for the first game
Even if he signs, he will be miles behind first team fitness. I doubt he will be considered for 2 or 3 weeks.
Suck it ****ing up lads!! @nicholaswilso11 @sunderlandred Hearing Southampton have matched SAFC offer for Y M'Vila #SAFC #SFC
