Not true, when Aon was on the kit the kit was Nike. Aon is on the current training gear, which is Adidas. That's current gear.
One of the multi sponsors they have. Both my boys have some training kit and all of that has Aon on it. Good old Aon, helping United buy back Pogba. First photo is him with their name splashed on it, bit of payback for them.
Well done Woody. It takes courage to spend a world record £89m (plus add ons and agents fees) on a player who left for free 4 years ago. Courage to also face the criticism if it goes pear shaped. Of course Pogba is nowhere near worth that fee and wages, but this had to be done to buy him. Souness and others saying he is not worth it simply don't get it. Now United (and the premiership) has the most expensive and one of the best players in the world, at 23 years, with a huge potential to improve. Shows the financial power of United , the will and hunger to get back to the top. For those who say that United have squandered that money, I say don't hold your breath. During his 5 year stay, United will recoup that outlay. Despite spending absolute fortunes on middling players with little impact, United still made huge profits while the likes of Madrid (and psg, city, Chelsea ) were relying on handouts.
We've come a long way since the start of this thread. It is interesting to read the first few pages and see what people thought at the outset
Not mine but funny. The official fee is 89mil pounds. To be paid as 30 each year. Ain't so bad considering Liverpool pay that much to Southampton every year and still are a mid table mediocre club.
So Juve had to pay the agent's fee they were so willing to forward commit to when they signed the player on a free!
However you look at it, United has pulled a coup here. The fact that Real have publicly stated that they wanted him makes it even sweeter. £100m seems huge but when you compare it to the amount paid in the last 3 years on mediocre players you realise it makes footballing and financial sense. I would spend another £100m on another player to cap this but I don't think there is one around.
The main reason people are pulling faces at this transfer is because he isn't a goalscorer really. Bale and Ronaldo were goal scorers so people felt that justified the fees, Pogba offers something different, but because his contribution isn't there in black and white (ie his goal tally) people scratch their heads and get confused. FYI, I dont think he was worth anywhere near this much money either, 50-60 tops, IF Juve didn't want to sell. But thats the ridiculousness of modern football I am afraid. United SHOULD win the title now to be honest. You have the best manager in the world, and have signed two of the best players in the world for their positions (dont care what anyone says, Ibra is still awesome). Your defence still sucks though @Just Stan
Great news, but an odd way to announce one of the biggest signings in world football. I would have thought there would have been a big presser this morning, Woody, JM, Sir Bobby etc etc rather than have the news creep out that he was signed 'in the early hours' - very odd, and a bit of an anti-climax in that sense.
Buying back has done ok for Chelsea, Graeme Le Saux (We sold him to Blackburn for 500k, bought him back for 5m) Or Nemanja Matic (Sold to Benfica for £21m, bought back for the same price 2 years later).
