Ayew did a decent job for us last year - but never really suited our style.

Hopefully, Baston will slot in and, with Llorente, provide the goals we will need!

A directors son isn't gonna lie about it is he. I wouldn't post it up if it was just speculation.

I thought you'd understand, let me reiterate I didn't look at any links until the official announcement, I don't believe any of these sites until it's been posted up there. The only other website I really look at is the BBC sport website. All the rest are basically nothing more than rumour mill sites that I don't really pay much heed too.

Except that this new striker is taking up most of this fee. This transfer window is going to cost us very little, or if Williams goes then the club will make a profit out of it. I would rather the Swans make a profit than a loss, surely that is preferable ? Or do you want us to be akin to Portsmouth?

Well what do you call the Swans then? The club has made a huge profit out of the deal.

Well you make it sound as if someone is taking this money and running away with it. The income at the club goes through audited accounts, it costs about 75% of the total income to pay wages at the club. No other industry that I can think of has that kind of ratio from income to wages.

Kinda like watching Siggy walk through the door and it cost us ..... A youth player in reality .
Ayew cost nothing , and we're going to get 2 strikers for him .
Well , I'm sure Ayew gets a " Cut " of the money but will we ever know ...not these days .

Haven't followed all of this thread but losing one of our top scorers without having Bojon or similar in the bag doesn't sound too clever with kick-off just days away. Although it's a good thing to keep solvent bearing in mind the demise of clubs like Portsmouth, I'd rather have a decent playing squad that keeps us competitive in this League than have money sloshing around in the bank account that won't keep us up.

Even if we don't get Baston , we will get another striker .
Llorente has tons of expierence , Baston has play one season in the top division , if we get Baston great
If we don't we have a top guy already and looking for back up .

So , wages are wages .
We have lower than average wages in the Premier overall .
Ayew comes in , in reality , going to cost us about 10 ,000,000 including wages .
We pocket 10 million and instead of paying a club for Ayew from the start , we pay Ayew most of the money he would have cost from another club . Guys running their contracts down and doing this will be a crisis for clubs soon , especially with agents in players ears looking for a" Cut "

funny the name of the thread and the actions the Swans are taking seem totally different, new contracts for rangel, dyer, signing Fer, hardly a rebuild. on a positive note Gomis has gone.

Fer , Van Der Boorn , Llorente are the rebuild . With others to come it seems , Rangel , Dyer , Siggy are just contract extension leg work .The academy got a bit of a rebuild too I think .

I'm with Dai on the Ayew transfer.....he's moved to West Ham - one of the lesser London clubs. They won't finish top 4 and should be in the same bracket as us in the league positions. It's not furthering his career - just boosting an already over-inflated bank account.

Well you could say the same for Allen who left us, Liverpool won't end up in the top 4, he went to inflate his bank account. And by the way where did Utd finish last season ? ;)
