that is right. As the anti sectarian organisation nil by mouth will tell you that "We recognise that the use of this word does cause sectarian offence when used with other terms of a specifically religious nature".

I don't give this organisation much credence at all but that tends to make sense.

Where do you stand on the "Kill All Huns" statement?

Bigoted or not? Would you not advice the moderator of your Celtic board to err on the side of caution with regard such inflammatory statements?

Especially given the current media and police interest in such matters?

Wind yer neck in sugar buns. I never said Kill All Huns. It was taken from an article in the Guardian posted by Medro in yet another vain attempt to prove the word hun is bigoted.

On this issue of what is and isnlt sectarian, bogted etc. do fans of Scottish football clubs really think that there are going to be a whole load of court cases if there's any iffy singing at the games? As an outsider I find the whole thing absolutely ludicrous. As I, and others, have said before, some of the singing in English gorunds is every bit as offensive (mocking disasters and the like is surely as bad as having a pop at someone because of their relgion) and isn't a criminal offence so I do think it would be a bit mad. I can't help thinking that it's a headline grabber by a power crazed politician desperately seeking to make a big splash.

The Pope's weapon would be his Papal Staff, the Queen would have her sceptre. As back up, the Queen would have a pack of vicious Corgis, the Pope a bunch of cranky old cardinals.

    What do you reckon?

I never said you did. But you were vehement that this was not a bigoted statement.

I think that is a dangerous stance for a Moderator of a Celtic board to take in the current climate; where bigotry is, rightly or wrongly, a political, media and judiciary hot issue.

I think it's an irresponsible stance and you should have erred on the side of caution. The meaning is, at best, ambiguous, and you were being deliberately inflammatory.

Do you give this statement of their website much credence?

"Offensive sectarian language is still used in Scotland on a daily basis, with abusive terms such as “Hun” and “Orange bastard” being used negatively against Protestants"

    http://nilbymouth.org/history/

Your right in another "vain attempt" I was able to persuade a guardian journalist to write an article on this subject years ago.

It isn't bigoted, it's offensive. That was the point I was trying to make.

Christ on a bendy bike son, it's not rocket science. Here, go mad:
