I won't predict, but will say the favorites should be us, then Arsenal--unless Arsenal get Mahrez or someone of that ilk, in which case, reverse that order. City should be favored for third. I'm not so sure about the rest.
City, Chelsea and United are the unknown variables in this whole equation. I think Leicester will have a great season but will struggle to juggle the CL with the squad they currently have (I'd say this about ourselves too, albeit to a lesser extent). Pep, Jose and Conte could all click into place from day 1 and we'll have a real struggle on our hands to retain a top 4 spot. The comforting thought is that Van Gaal arrived with a glowing CV and started throwing money around like a wealthy but lonely bachelor in Vegas, but ultimately the PL beast conquered him. Out of the three newcomers, Mourinho at United worries me the most. They seem to be funded by leprechaun gold at the minute, and he understands the league tremendously well. His downfall at Chelsea was ultimately his arrogance, so I'm hoping for the same outcome at Prawn Trafford.
PREDICT! you just did! Only economists believe their own predictions. They think they understand numbers but usually have little understanding of people. Nobody except other economists and the BBC believe they know what they are talking about. Their underlying problem, they think 2 + 2 = 4
Semantics. I was trying to balance my hoodoo about predicting good things against my annoyance that the pundit collective wisdom is that the best and youngest team in the league last year will finish sixth. The way I look at, Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp and Conte would be doing extremely well to win the league next year. This year should be too big an ask.
Something else which went against Moronho last season is he was lacking two of his most loyal lieutenants, namely Lampard and Drogba, who alongside Terry would stoke his feelings of persecution and paranoia in the dressing room so the squad all believed that The FA, Premier League, UEFA or whoever else were genuinely conspiring against the Chavs and gave them something to fight against. Because nobody was enforcing the feeling that everyone was against them, it exposed the mercenary underbelly of the squad to devastating effect.

So we are also rans again as the media fawns over the Manchesters is impressed by Liverpool and expects from Arsenal & Chelsea. Good!
Meh. I expect 5th as the minimum, and higher once it becomes obvious at least one of the usual suspects is in trouble. Perhaps the "pundits" should be also asked the latter in their predictions (who of their predictions is most likely to eff up and who is most likely to profit from it) .
YidVids with another superb offering. 00.49-00.54 is the best 5 seconds of videography I've ever seen in a football clip. Expect shiverings of the spine and plentiful cutting of onions. This season is going to be an epic.

I've been reading this thread with interest, but I just can't predict....it's impossible. After Leicester's surprise title win, the managerial merry-go-round and the millions spent by so many clubs, how can we even have an inkling how it's going to go?
