Yes, but five or six years from now? I'm intrigued as to exactly what you've seen from him so far that warrants a) captaincy material and b) how you can possibly use the words 'Naismith' and 'legend' in the same breath For what he cost, the reputation that preceded his arrival and what he's delivered, I'd have to say a desperately large waste of money based on the evidence I've witnessed. Of course, it's all about opinions, and I'd be delighted if your prediction comes true. But I'd throttle back on the old wacky-baccy before bandying the word "legend" around too loudly
Although he did not set the world alight on his arrival, I do think that he could play a vital part in our promotion (if we achieve it) as he should add to our overall quality and make a difference. Certainly the Everton fans seemed genuinely gutted to have seen him go and commented on his commitment and passion. Let us hope that we all see that for ourselves next term.
I agree that Naismith could be a big player for us this season, Thurnby. Like Hoolahan, he uses space well and that will be vital in breaking down packed defences much of the time. We should have few players needing to 'bed into the squad' this season and will hopefully get off to a good start, which is crucial for a promotion push.
Absolutely Rick and I see we are in the market for the Blackburn defender. I do see Blackbun away as a pointer to our season because they are a difficult side to beat traditionally and have a physical reputation. Normally our nemesis.
One good game against Liverpool which we lost and now he is going to be an NCFC legend until he's 36 ?. Wow
I see the EDP have started the same discussion and have come to the same conclusion - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ich_city_captain_for_the_new_season_1_4634451
Yep, as expected it's pretty much a two-horse race between Howson and Klose. Not a lot of love in that poll for Seb regaining the armband!!
I noted that Johnny was given the arm band for the Blackburn, with Ruddy taking over when Howson was substituted. Has any announcement been made?
From twitter on Aug 7th: Diane @dianencfcfan @michaeljbailey Thanks, so have they announced who's going to be club and team captain this season? Michael Bailey@michaeljbailey @dianencfcfan AN asked it on Friday, and said it's not an issue or discussion. It carries on as last season.
Ha, that's NOT good news IF RM is going to be captain, as I was hoping he wouldn't even be on the bench in a lot of games!!!
No way should he be in the starting 11 when all are fit and available. Pinto surely must be first choice RB, and the Klose/Bennett must be allowed to flourish.
I think someone else raised this before, but who officially has the armband is of little concern compared to whether we have leaders on the pitch or not. In Klose, Howson, Tettey, Wes, and arguably others, we have those leaders in important positions.
In that case, we may as well dispense with the armband altogether, we don't want contentious issues rocking the early season boat?
