He seems to know where to get to, positioning and confidence looks good. Reminds me a bit of McKenzie when he was on form. Also which his runs and anticipating back passes or mistakes, kind of reminds me a bit of how Vardy plays.

May I suggest that we concentrate on promotion and then worry about the Premiership if we get there. Anyone who assumes that our return to the promised land in the next couple of years is highly likely could be in for a huge disappointment.

Just seen this about Nakhi Wells:
"Wells scored 18 times for Huddersfield last season, and scored 14 the season before that. He is a hard-working forward with blistering pace, but he is berated for finishing. Huddersfield fans have cited his missing of easy chances as his biggest weakness."
Holy cow, we've already got Jerome on the books and he missed enough last season for three players <yikes>

If we sign Championship quality with Championship potential, then we stay in the same position as we are. What's the problem with signing potential?

And I don't assume anything. I think the best chance of a return is while we still get Parachute payments, and can still legitimately and realistically hold on to our key players. I don't see any point in being negative and resigning all hope.

Agreed 1950 - it's going to be a battle to get out of this league and those who think the league is already won after an easy victory on Saturday need to just check the results for the Nukes and Villains to see how hard this will really be.

I, for one, would welcome Wells, Kodjia or Assombalonga as a striker - all are different to what we have currently (which isn't a lot) and all have scored goals at this level.

Whilst I agree with you in so far as we must focus on getting to the PL first. I actually think that our return is highly likely, the bookies, pundits and allot of other observers would tend to agree. With every passing season we don't return, our return becomes increasingly unlikely though. Let's get this season right!

    Bah!

You make a good point FML, but I'm not 'resigning all hope' and I'm sure 1950 isn't either - more a case of 'not counting our chickens'.

I've just seen that Wet Sham have signed French left-back Arthur Masuaku from Olympiakos on a four-year contract, so Olsson will have to look elsewhere if he wants PL football, though can't see many teams chasing his signature.

Edit - This is a forum and posters should be able to post whatever they feel like, as long as it's not being vindictive to fellow posters!!!

I'm counting nothing. It's common sense that we have to sign players that are good in the Championship, but could step up if needed. What we usually do, with sticking with players like Martin, Ruddy, Bassong et al hasn't worked.

Yea, I posted this morning about Masuaku. Good news. WH have big financial clout with the free tax payers stadium. I think if they really wanted him, they would seal him without much hassle and just have him as a back up. Which would have been sad to see. After his showing in the Euro, We should probably expect other European teams to have a sniff before the deadline.

Don't get me started on that topic FML!! That alone must be worth several £M to them each season, as they don't even have to pay maintenance or policing/stewarding on matchdays costs. I couldn't believe it when I read that!!!!

I could rant for ages about it. It's also disgusting all the staff who have worked for WH for decades all got made redundant. They had to take on the stadiums team of staff.

    Good old "fair play", hey?

    But that's another story.

I like chips with brown gravy, not necessarily from The Chip Inn! ;)

But do you still add vinegar? Whilst I partial to Chips (Especially those from the Chip Inn) I love them with salt and vinegar or with gravy, but vinegar and gravy is not a good combo in my umble!

    Bah!

Crikey, I'd no idea that that was what had happened to their long serving staff. Still, I'm sure the Wet Sham directors ensured they got excellent redundancy packages for their efforts!!! <laugh>

When all is said and done we still need one more goalscorer. Just because we battered an inadequate Blackburn side does not alter the fact that Jerome is our only proven forward at this level. I don't really care if it is an experience stop gap who will knock in 12-15 goals from the bench or covering CJ or a more expensive younger player who could murder this league and be supported by CJ but we are still only a knock on CJ away from having zero proven strikers at this level.

I was thrilled with Murphy's performance and goal and we do look like we have some talent bursting through but I don't think we can rely on him scoring wonder goals every week or Wes being allowed to walk to the D and pass the ball into the net. That said our build-up play for Nasimoth's goal was sublime. I certainly hope we can pick up from where we left off against Wednesday as a result against them would put down a marker to the rest of the league.
