It's always hyperthetical, we don't deal in facts on this board <laugh>

We can go off past history, though. It's something I've noticed, the higher up the league a team is, that also seems to have a bearing on a players value. Not saying it's right, or it should be like that, but that's the way it seems to be.

Don't see him going anywhere. He's happy here. We don't need to sell him (hopefully).

So why bother speculating? Because that's just what the press are doing. Speculating their asses off!

Because 9 times out of 10 it won't be and we would of weakened the only real strength position of the team for me, but it's just my opinion mate

If we got 20m for kone it wouldn't be anything to be afraid of. It'd be something to celebrate tbh. 15m profit in half a season? Money to spend on new players as well

How's this M'Vila thread turned into a Kone s leaving thread in the blink of an eye.

We're all sick and tired of waiting for Gann but there's nowt can do about it as supporters, as for Kone, I watched him against Dortmund and in no way did I see a player whose head has been turned, this guy is best buddies with Kaboul has other French mates in the team and has expressed how much he is,enjoying it here, WHY do so many feel he is going to go and how much bigger are Everton to us in the scheme of things, going on last season's form there's not much between us.

A few on here need to relax a bit and look forward to the weekend.

Gotta agree, press talk but judging by Kone's words, actions and Instagram, he's not looking to go anywhere.

You've raised a good point there. How much would Stones be worth if he was a Sunderland player. £10-15 million tops IMO.

That's all he's worth as an any team player.

City aren't gonna pay what he's worth, they're gonna pay a lot more than that, for some reason, just like they did with Sterling.

Agree with Cumbrian lol, new mvila thread, thought it might have happened eventually, but it's a Kone thread.

When is the borini like saga going to end, if he has signed, four year deal etc, what is the hold up?????

Wonder if anybody told them upstairs season starts next week.

The problem is, how many players would 20m get us in the current market ? We've already spent 8m on one defender. We could take a gamble and buy in a foreign player with no premier league experience, but that is hit or miss on whether they would be able to come straight into the team, needs 6 months to get up to speed or just flop. So how much would a replacement for Kone cost ? Someone who could straight into the team and make the kind of impact Kone has ? In the current market, we would easily be looking at 15+ million for a proven defender. So selling Kone for 20m would not be financially beneficial

Should have qualified my statement, as a replacement for Kone who we know can walk straight into the team. see my worry about any foreign player we could buy above. We got lucky with Kone, would we do so again with another one ?

I disagree - but only because I believe we have people in the background making the decisions and knowing that they can find that player who will fit straight in. Similar set up to Allardyce at the moment and the player we brought in under him were pretty "get in and graft" and I'd back them. £20m for 6 months work would be fantastic business for the club and would give Moyes a little bit of financial foothold.

That said - I hope he stays! WOuld be gutted if he left as he's a proper crowd pleaser

Just received my copy of Legion of Light and Kone is on the front cover. No way would that happen if we were thinking about cashing in.
