Watched van Vleuten's crash in the road race ... she's ****ed the corner up there, way too hot going into it and messed her line up on the exit so she's drifting wide, certain to crash, tries to apply both brakes heavily to correct or at least slow and yeah the bike's completely gone and she's doing unwanted acrobatics Nasty impact, looks like she'll be alright Seems to be just after the spot Porte came off looking at the green netting before she dumps it
Think the Cycling teams got the tactics hugely wrong, Thomas was unlucky but to go into both races with 4 or 5 riders who were more than capable of medalling and not come away with anything says someone made a wrong call on the day.
I didn't see the womens one so can't comment In the mens I don't think it was necessarily all tactical. Thomas got v unlucky not to medal since he crashed late, he's the best and most natural one day rider out of all of them. Froome whilst a superb cyclist isn't the best one day rider and prefers grand tour riding, maybe he could have done more but he looked fooked tbh. Yates is young but good and probably should be the one being looked at as being sub-par on the day from a team-tactics and individual pov. Stannard and Cummings are domestiques all day so were never going to be in the medals, again maybe they could have provided better service. I was surprised Cancellara didn't get in the medals pound for pound he is one of the best one day riders, can be superb
it was a tight game so i presume he had a go at it. its a hard court not clay so some guys are really whining about that but it help murray for one. Murrays lost in doubles. 7/6 7/6
Murray bros have never done well playing dubs together, Andy only cares about singles anyways Yeh, two tie-breaks for Djoko-Delpo, he put up a fight in the first but tanked in the second The court isn't the fastest hard court, in fact it's very slow for a hard court, the blue ones used on the ATP tour and Aussie and US Opens are much faster, in Rio they play more like clay actually where a lot of the pace comes of the ball allowing rallies to continue longer Nadal won, maybe helped by the court Konta won and Serena won
GB? Have you see the Dutch team? Check out Ellen Hoog please log in to view this image Out of the Brit girls, its between Twigg or Quek Now you see why I play Hockey
Our Hockey team got dicked last night it appears...dell asleep at 2-0 down saw it went to 5-0 by the end... TBF Netherlands are ranked no 2 in world...
Men's will probably lose out in the Bronze again, there is just a big gap between the top three and the rest of the world. Men's Hockey in Oz is apparently insane, the fitness levels are so far beyond anything we can offer, a friend of mine went to play there for a year and said it was hard to keep up because everyone is so quick and fit In the Ladies I expect the Dutch to win, best by a mile, think our girls have a chance at the Silver they're much better than the ranking suggests.
