showing his un goalkeeping prowess again careless hands ROB GREEN behind the ears makes another mess up not being alert enough to stop huddersfield scoring !
As i said before ROB (GREEN BEHIND THE EARS ) will F..K UP in vital matches HE IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN ! if silvestri had been in goals he would have knocked the ball over the bar, a simple schoolboy move that they teach you at primary school , strikers advancing putting pressure on , a dropping ball under the crossbar . SIMPLE KNOCK IT OVER THE CROSSBAR USELESS TW.T GREEN ! sell him to colchester if they will have him and get silvestri back in
What makes green look good is our defence, after that he's just............."what sniffer says" green. Green is one of Monks favourites, I got a feeling it's going to come back and bite Monk on his proverbial R's hole. Hope he ain't in goal against Liverpool.
Green isn't a "favourite", he is part of a settled defence that's got us to top six ... his mistake hurt us badly but it's clear his teammates respect him ... however, Monk will be giving a serious look at Green, and no doubt Silvestri will be considered ... I still don't get the cheap swipes at Monk with the baseless "favourite" claims, because this manager has built a squad that's together and committed, something that can't happen when "favourites" exist Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I would say that we were top six because of our defense, not because of Green. Green has lost us points that would have seen us higher in the table. Goalkeepers will always make mistakes, but Green is renowned for it. But IMO our main problem is our lack of goals. If we could score goals it would take the pressure off Green and our defenders. Not sure regarding Monk's favourites, but Grimes is one player who I don't rate. I don't know if it's Monks coaching brilliance. Cellinos non interference or the loan signing of Jansson, but things are working. Newcastle are the best team in this division and with a bit of luck we could of had a point. There aren't many teams we should fear. Morning Billy...
Morning Shaks. As you say all keepers make the odd howler. Green seems to reserve them for in front of the SKY cameras
Awful mistake by Green but long forgotten how Silvestre has let in a few bad ones too. Personally I don't believe either keeper is good enough. When you watch Green in goal he is barking instructions and organising those in front of him, that is why I believe he is being selected ahead of Silvestre. Before his blunder he made an excellent save, we can all say yes Silvestre would have saved it too but we will never know.. bottom line is, if we want to win promotion, if we want a keeper who can remain with us in the prem then we need better. As for picking favourites, let's not forget Silvestre was sent home preseason, he was basically told he had no future, we wanted to sell him but NOBODY came in for him. I'm not condoning Greens mistake or his flaws but he does organise those in front of him very well. It's just like Bamba or Bellusci, neither were great, both had an error in them, both could have a stormer, I personally don't care who we pick in goal, both have errors in them and aspects of their game not up to scratch. What I also noticed with Green was how bad his kicking was after the error, I can only assume he isn't a person who can put a bad error behind him, it gets to him. Good to see Bartley run over and give him a pat on the back and support after the blunder.
All goalkeepers, all Doctors, all Plumber, all Drivers make mistakes. My impression was that Green did not see Gayle rushing in he had his eye on the ball and tried to palm it down gather it and clear it. Whoever and if someone replaces Green he will still make mistakes.
Why anytime a manager doesn't pick one of the ****e foreign players its because he has his favourites? It was the same last season when Cook was being played instead of Bianchi or when Wood was played instead of Antenucci. Have you ever thought its because the players being picked are better than the ones being left out? It was an absolute shocker from Green but he is by far our best goalkeeper so we have to make do with what we've got. He's made a couple of errors this season but if you have watched us every week you will have noticed he has played well in almost every game.
even if green did not see gayle he should expect it as there is going to be someone rushing in with the way newcastle are playing and people are right it WAS a penalty if green had not made his nervous mistake and we had got the penalty leeds would have got a draw 1-1 , hope its the last game of the season and leeds go to newcastle and beat them to get promoted and newcastle miss out !!
