The cheapest ticket, a program, a cup of tea and a pie makes Fratton Park the second most expensive ground in the Championship. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14367357.stm Your thoughts?
To be honest, I distrust stadium food. Admittedly I have occasionally had a burger from one of the burger vans that's outside but generally I think I'd prefer to eat in advance.
Hi Dev. £5.50 for a cup of lukewarm tea and a tepid pie. Disgraceful! Knight and Lee serve some hearty meals, for not much more than that, on the top floor reataurant, in their Southsea store. A brisk walk to the ground afterwards, will walk off the excess.
Here in Germany, except for a few pints of 'liquid bread', I avoid all other foods in every stadium, no matter which sport!!
The answer is to eat and drink before you enter the ground, don't buy a programme, and just take a flask of drink, or bottled water in with you. Should save a fortune !! The money saved could then be wisely invested in a pint or two of "falling down water" after the game has finished......
A good helping of sauerkraut helps. Of course, when 28,000 spectators all follow suit, the atmosphere in the staduim does change somewhat.
I remember the "German football is weird" feature on Soccer AM and it looks like a lot of fun, to watch footy over there, do you follow a German side? I would choose St Pauli I think.
