Looking forward to seeing how Mourinho sets up! Not the most important game but would be nice to win.
For all the criticism of Fellaini, he gets picked continuously by all the 3 recent managers. Moyes, LVG and now Mourinho. Surely he can't be that bad?
Positives: 1. We won 2. Zlatan scored 3. Fellaini ****ed up so should still be on his way out Good day at the office
More positives - Zlatan scored - always worth a second mention Luke Shaw Lingard Bailly Rashford and not forgetting that Mkhitaryan got one extra minute of game time Negatives Fellani Rooney well off the pace Carrick very slow Rojo almost giving away a penalty by taking out Schmeichel
Painted himself into a bit of a corner though with his "I would not give a player one minute of game time if he was not in my plans" speech
For all the good Jose will doubtless bring, it's offset with some bad stuff. Substituting Mata when he'd not been on long is one of them. Again, unnecessary. I can't fathom why he would have to do it, what is he gaining? He must know Mata is a favourite of the supporters even if he's not one of his own. Don't take the piss with a global audience.
Although no doubt other clubs do it, it's normal practice, why should the manager have to explain his decisions yeah, yeah, got it.
I was bizarre, although possibly people reading too much into it given Mourinho's past relationship with Mata. More a result of how many subs they now allow in the CS, which just encourages late time wasting tactical switches up front - no way were we going to made defensive changes with Leicester getting so many late corners. And at least Mata got some game time - Schneiderlin got two minutes and Depay and Darmian weren't even in the match day squad. If Mourinho really did want to push Mata out the door then just leave him out of the squad altogether.
