Been in Tenerife for my pre season training and got home at 3AM yesterday so obviously not ideal. Couldn't make Loftus Road so set about some strenuous strimming, mowing and hedge cutting to keep myself spectator fit and sharp for the year ahead. Eventually, sat down in eager anticipation for a great game and, even if it wasn't to be, signs that this really could be our year. Now I can't blame one man for everything and I am definitely not a dual account but watching that ****e today wants to make me kick Ridsdale, Professor Makenzie, Shister Bates, Dodgy Dave and the "bankers" from Bahrain, never mind the twat that will, inevitably sack Monk and blame him. I love Leeds United and that is genuine but today I just don't know if I have had enough. Had rotten sciatica for two weeks, painful journeys, worked hard trying to make my three happy in the face of holiday gobshiteness all around us but had a huge amount of hope about what today could bring and then.... Eire et al can really tell me to eff off and it is only one game because maybe they are right but I will say, hand on heart, I hope there are three (other) really poor teams in this league because if that was first game massive heart and effort etc we really are bolloxed. Finally, really felt for Charlie Taylor who just didn't look like he wanted to be there. Tom Lees, apparently, has been offered £25k per week by SW to stay, I.e. Far more than any of our lot earn and we pretty much let him go. If I were Taylor looking at that, McCormack, Byram and Cook etc and looked at today's effort I would be gutted to think I have wasted three years of my career with that idiot as chairman, coach, kit man, tea lady and whatever else the coked up fruit loop thinks he is. Rant over, peace to (almost) all
Sorry mate, but I will never , ever, regret supporting Leeds United, as bad as we are, they are my club
Its going to be a long season after watching that garbage yesterday, and to think I risked my job by skiving off......never again, once again 3,100 faithful who should be compensated.
The problem is we are cellinos club! It could get very ugly very quickly at ER if yesterday wasnt a freak result.
Billy Bremner showed total commitment to Leeds United in every game I saw him play.On Sunday for the first time in my life I saw a team representing Leeds where not one player seemed commited. They appeared to play without plan or thought and chased the ball like a kids team.Taylor showed his commitment when he asked for a transfer and Baradi showed his with his march down the tunnel. When Garry Monk picks his next team I hope it is comprised of players who 100% want to play for the club. Apart from the lack of commitment I thought at least two of the players would not have stood out in a pub team.
Part of the problem is Cellino believing he could repeat what he did in Italy and Serie B He came to Leeds imported a load of Serie B players thinking it would work and it didn't. He then spends a bit of money then a bit more and it still isn't working, in his ignorance he believes it is the coaches and that the players he signs are good enough when they are not. Spending that much money in Serie B would probably mean you would challenge for promotion, here it is so short of what is really needed for guaranteed success and Cellino just can't see that. This leads to a merry go round of coaches, an unsettled squad and players who are decent wanting out
Correct. There are no committed players anymore. Remember the squad England brought to the euros and their performances. only incentive for a footballer to put in an effort these days is when they're trying to engineer a transfer a la Byrams last four games for us
Disagree - none of our players want a transfer yet they were all very committed on Saturday and game 100% - brilliant performance from Morison in particular
Disagree as well Eire, my local team in the kilkenny district league showed a lot of commitment and put in a brilliant performance yesterday. About as relevant as tc's post.
Totally agree Ristac. With parachute payments it's getting near impossible to get promoted on the cheap
WCD. My concern is that we didn't see players who were not 100% committed but players that are 100% not good enough
