The cycling road race that takes over 6 hours to complete was mad, our cyclists couldn't cope with the gruelling course but it was the same for everyone as the favourites fell away, Geraint Thomas gave it a really good go though but he could not handle the fastest decent there has ever been in a road race....I felt for him as he sat there in the ditch looking dejected.....He can feel very proud of himself as far as im concerned nearly completing the hardest road race in its history...

I don't generally watch much of the Olympics, maybe the athletics and do like the cycle racing in the velodrome. I happened to switch on the women's road race and saw the crash of the Dutch woman, **** mine it was appalling. They should never of been racing there, everyone has said how unnecessarily dangerous it is.

The route for the bike races is horrendous. From rough , cobblestoned parts knocking chains off , to dangerous curves , somebody turned this from a bike race to a feat of survival .
Anyways , was a nasty fall , and trying to find out any info on how she was was like pulling teeth for hours after .

The route is a ****ing disgrace. The girl could have died yesterday. That was as bad a fall from a bike I have ever seen. Hope to Christ she makes a full recovery and will be able to ride again.

Anyone watch Phelps in the relay last night/this morning? He won that relay for USA.

Think there's a few more golds out there for him. He's just phenomenal. I know Ali holds the mythical title as the Greatest sportsman ever, but 19 Olympic golds (for now at least) from 5 Olympics, in my eyes at least, makes him the greatest athlete of all time.

Tbh, I'm not fussed on the athletics (always wondering if the winners are taking stuff etc), it's the swimming, cycling and rowing I enjoy watching!

I like the above but athletics, the archery and shooting interests me as well. Women's beach volley ball is my particular favourite for some reason ;)

I like the last few games or so of a women's tennis match ,when they are all sweated up and grunting .
    Good stuff ! .
Not something I would say in earshot of the Canadain Women's sevens in rugby , could be hazardous to my health .

You could say the same for the cycling, doesn't have the best record.

I enjoy everything to do with the Olympics from the Open ceremony and everything in between to the closing ceremony. It's the biggest and best event in the world if you love watching all different types of sport......I watched Brazil V Iraq in football yesterday and you would expect them to slaughter these teams but they have played two games and have not even scored a goal yet.....0-0 in both games you would put your house on they would win.....very exciting....

Haha ...Canada gets the Bronze in the Women's 7 rugby overcoming Great Britain .
That # 11 for Great Britain looked a healthy athlete , only girl from Wales and ran one in fairly swiftly .

You do realise Roof is Canadian? <doh>

I said I'd boycott this Olympics but I'm inevitably getting sucked into it. Damn those girls in tight shorts. <laugh>

GB were piss poor though. Lost 2 players to yellow cards v NZ so that screwed that game up then lost another v Canada. Totally ill-disciplined. The Canadians were too powerful and our girls looked like......girls. Well done to the Canucks. We also blew the gymnastics and the cross country horsey thing. Not going too well imo.

The short haired blonde girl from our Canadian team , with tattooed arms was .........overwhelming on many levels . I don't know if Great Britain had an off game but the Canadians were miles more talented it seemed .
