I wasn't going to post this, cos some people think I just stick stuff on to boast, but wtf. The Sheikh arrived this week, out of the blue, with 5 of his sons although I thought there were 7 at first. 2 of them turned out to be the bodyguards to the lads and are Turkmenistani ex-special forces. They don't speak a word of English, or Arabic as far as I could gather, and kept themselves strictly to themselves. I take all this stuff with a pinch of salt but I expect obviously wealthy Muslim lads walking around London are 'at risk' under the present climate. I woke earlier than usual on Friday so walked down to let the ducks out and put the sprinklers on to save the gardeners a job. The 2 bodyguards were on the pontoon, next to the lake, doing their training and exercises ........ FFS, really scary stuff! If I wasn't worried they'd have snapped my neck, like a twig, I'd have filmed them and posted a clip. Freaky frightening stuff.
It was stuff I've never seen before mate, really shocking stuff. It was that impressive I got our lass out of bed to watch ........ from a distance It was like they were in a trance and doing kicks & punches in really slow motion for about 4/5 minutes. Then, all of a sudden, they exploded into a really fast repetition of the whole routine that lasted about 20 seconds. They'd have gone through you like a combine harvester ........ when our lass asked me how I'd tackle them I said 'With my legs'
Thanks Smug, I think, like you, I love to see high intensity training at it's finest. Now, I'm living out in the sticks, I'm looking for new and innovative ways to train around here, because I don't want to go back in a gym to do it. I would have been enthralled by them
I trained in various gyms, for 15/16 years, and have met all kinds of people ....... these lads were something from a different planet. Previous to them the scariest bloke I've met was a bald headed 6'6" Italian cage fighter. Either of these lads would've done him I reckon ......... they were so quick and aggressive I think the flurry of blows would've eventually taken him down.
Just watched Arsenal beat Man C 3-2. Cracking game of football. Looks like a very bad injury to Gabriel - could be a lengthy lay off.
