I said from the beginning that the yanks are not investors (so far) , this window is what we were going to do whether they were here or not. I think we will actually make a profit once the window is closed, as Ash's transfer of about £12m will be added to the mix, so £42m outward and circa £30m spent will be about right.
I'm not so sure he'll go tbh, especially for only about £12 million. Think it would be closer to £15 million.
Spending for the sake of spending isn't investing ...it's just overspending . The instantaneous move to retain Siggy , at the first sign of interest ,shows me all I need to know about the Americans and that retaining a core group is every bit as important as bringing in new players . Williams and Ayew , in actuality , cost us 500,000 . We are preparing to sell them for 35,000,000 . Let's not hold that against the new owners in their possible spending . We 've spent some very wise money so far , and expect us to spend more wise money ......how ever much that it amounts to . Very impressed this last week or so with what Siggy's new contract , Llorente signing , Baston possible signing and the willingness to sell Ayew at a massive profit . Same as Williams , if he goes it's because he wants to go and a massive profit again .
I see we are begining to have a few takers for Borja Baston now then aye, this transfer will always be remembered for 'Who the hell is he'!!!..........
You'll soon find out, when he bangs the goals in, I had a hunch back in the beginning of July that Huw might like the look of this deal, he was the best out there that fitted Huw's wallet, plus I had a feeling we were over our French transfer experiments. Spanish players are always better value currently, and definitely more technical than most French counterparts. I'm very pleased to see some Spanish lads coming back into our squad.... PS: Monk has got off to a flying start, not!..........
Agree, he will need at least 10 games to settle in, most strikers don't start firing up until second half of the season, but he will score, just get the supply right to him, he will not have had a pre season either, so patience will be needed.........
With us breaking our transfer fee on this deal, with it being €18 Million, I doubt very much Huw would allow a buy back clause, but there may well be a sell on fee for Atletico.............
No , this transfer will always be know as " Phil 's Guy " , You better hope he's the right Guy ......lol
With Arsenal needing 2 CBs now, I see us getting at least £15 million for Ash if he goes. Play Arsenal and Everton against each other.
There is an outside chance ( slim but possible ) that both Fernandez and Williams could go . We would need another CB as soon as possible but I would be comfortable with Amat and VDH holding down the fort with a Rodon in reserve too another could be found .
