Thought the third was down to coyle to be honest, keeper wasn't expecting the forward to get it. Well struck shot tbf.
BREAKING NEWS STATEMENT FROM THE HEAD OF THE CONSORTIUM BUYING LUFC (to follow once he gathers his composure.) please log in to view this image
Minor positives. Sakho looked OK when he came on. Viera will become a good player but a big ask to step up so soon although he'll be poached if he turns out to be a real prospect. Antonson got into good positions but might be another of those forwards that need a lot of chances to score one. Other than that, it could be a long hard season. We need to buy quality and pay the going rate if we're to challenge. Agree that Berardi could spell trouble for Monk.
Special afternoon all to the Leeds posters that have come back from last season. Good to have you back!!!
I think more than 50 / 50 decisions seem to go against LUFC, but that has always been the case. Does anyone know when the transfer window closes?
I for one wish I hadn't bothered. Supported LUFC for 46 years and it doesn't get any easier with results like this. It's the fact that we didn't get one poxy shot on target according to the BBC stats that really riles me. Same old, same old. Terrible pre-season lacking any decent oppo and as somebody else mentioned we will be playing catch-up for some time to come so that bottom slot looks like it will become far too familiar for my liking.
Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP 11m11 minutes ago Monk frustrated that the Qatari FA haven't processed Hernandez clearance. Hernandez was due to be involved today.
Did Monk give an Interview afterwards? Did he mention the reason for replacing Berardi so early? Something is going on with this... Coyle looked great when he came on, with Berardi and Coyle it is a mystery why Monk has been trying to sign a new RB
Ristac the 3rd goal was the reason, sheer inexperience especially against a big No9. should have been rowz but he let it bounce .... They should have had that bellend sent off too for 2 blatant yellows, but he let him off only for JFH to sub him off, so should have been up against 10 men. we didnt manage to supply Wood with one decent ball so he runs around like a big lump alll day. Suspect we will see a classy performance next week so that all the crying fans can say we're gonna win the league again. Reality check folks this is a tough leage, this side and manager are new, we aint spent millions on the team and most clubs in the league are on parachute money and were in the prem recently. Even QPR have over £20m of players on show today. Stop crying and support the team. if we're still **** by September then cry.
Positives: Bartley looks like a beast and I can't remember him doing anything wrong. In fact he just seemed to stroll through the game. Sacko looked lively and full of confidence. His finish was good even though he did handle the ball. Antonsson got into some good positions and has goals in him. Coyle was one of the few who looked like he was up for the fight apart from switching off in the last minute to give away the 3rd goal. Negatives: Green...Can't say I was impressed. Looked slow (maybe his age) and his distribution wasn't all that great either. Diagouraga....anonymous. Grimes...same as above really. Hardly heard him mentioned until he took the free kick. I am not going to rag on Roofe because it's a step up for him and we need to give him time to adjust to the championship. I am not sure though if we will really see the best of him if we struggle early doors. It would be silly to get too upset after the first game even though it was a dissapointment. Lack of any meaningful pre-season games clearly hasn't helped our course. The one positive I am taking from today is seeing a few Chinese guys in the box with Cellino. I really think it's important that we need new ownership if Cellino isn't prepared to put his money where his mouth is. The Championship is changing and we will soon become fodder if we don't evolve along with it.
I will support the team for ever and a day regardless but will maintain a sense of reality. We haven't bought a class players for ages and it shows. I do expect us to beat Fleetwood but that won't make us league winners by a long chalk. No doubt Uwe will get a stunning performance from his new team and cause an upset. Once again I will be hugely pissed off if we lose as I am whenever we capitulate so easily and lose. If we are still bottom by the end of September then that will spell major problems. Time will tell.
Cellino was with James Featherstone (an agent) (via @mrwayneg). He's Garry Monk's agent. Also: Joleon Lescott, Sam Winnall, Matty Tatlor, Nacer Chadli.
