Which would hopefully mean a new striker is in the pipeline.

Ok, I've seen the stats and thought about them. Whilst I appreciate the difference in gates between the Chelsea's and the Man City's of the world, the stats about ownership of season tickets of them and now we will never know.

It's only my opinion that they are a plastic club, from the fortunate way they happened across the stadium, from the preferential treatment they received from The FA/UEFA with regards FFP, to their treatment of young English players. Maybe plastic isn't the right word, I'm not sure what an alternative is though.

The original post I made was about class, regardless of the stats you provided, I still don't think they've got it. It's not the fans fault, but the approach the board takes. They want to be the Real Madrid of England and will buy every manager, player, sponsor and fan they need to get there and nothing will stop them in their quest. I just find it such a shame and like Real Madrid and Chelsea a bit of a waste of a club-but I guess someone's got to do it.

There will be Saints fans who express a concern about the money we spent in L1 ( including me as I mentioned before ) but I justify that by saying that it was a start of a project, without that kick start, we would be in the fortunate position we are now of being able to develop players and by doing the best by them if they don't make it with us. Also we are building a club by using money earned, now rather than earlier on in our recent restart as a club.

Someone mentioned what it would be like if we did a Man City and inherited and spent all that money. My own feelings aside, I think the fans would be right to openly question the direction the club took as it wouldn't be in the best interests of the club.

We are building something successful and sustainable here, since Cortese was ousted with the support of the vast majority of fans. There will always be a section of support who want the quick fix, but I think we are going about things in a classy fashion, more class than Chelsea, Man City or Real Madrid ever could. Sorry if that's an opinion you don't share.
