    This...

...suggests you think Klopp and Wenger lack class due to speaking about other clubs deals.

Mourinho not talking about other clubs deals would suggest he's the opposite and therfore shows class.

You really should think first mate. Mourinho is the second most classless manager going and the guy above him is now one of his superiors having retired.

    That would be right <ok>

I have never, ever suggested Maureen had class. I do find him amusing when he is in a good mood though :emoticon-0100-smile

Klopp is amusing no matter the mood he's in :)

I'd stop watching Liverpool if we'd appointed Mourinho. Can't stand the cock or the football he serves up. I'd rather win ****all than be bored to tears every game. May as well just watch final score every week instead!

Which football would that be, his Porto football, his first spell at Chelsea football, maybe his Madrid football?
Or is it the stereotype football that some like to believe he always plays?

It's the football I've had the misfortune of witnessing with my eyes.

If he hasn't been appointed Man Utd manager then you wouldn't be even attempting to argue otherwise!

I couldn't stand the football we played under Houllier either. The trophies are great of course but the football is ridiculously boring.

It's not an attempt to argue, or because he is our manager now (I am on record as saying I didn't want him).
The actual facts make the stereotype pointless, he plays to the strength of his squad at every club he goes to so as to get the best out of them in as short a time as possible. If he ever stays anywhere long enough to build his own squad he will be frightening.

“Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players, yes,” he explained. “But if you bring one player in for £100million or whatever, and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney

Do I have to do it differently to that? Actually, I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money.

“I want a special team spirit – I don’t feel it is necessary, I want it.

You can’t say at the end, 'Only 11 best players will play together and let’s see what happens.' The day that this is football, I’m not in a job anymore. Because the game is about playing together.

“That is why somebody invented passes — so these players can play together. It’s not about running with the ball because you can do it all the time.

"But building the group is not my unique idea, it is necessary to be successful in football.”

“If you all swim in the same pool, the pool is too small - you all go for the same players,” said Klopp.

“There are a lot of players outside that pool — good players on to the next step in their career. We try to find them. The best player of the last season is good to know, but it is more interesting trying to find out who will be the best one next year.

“If you knew it now, that would be a really cool transfer! It would be much cheaper too. That is what we work for.

“It is not about being creative because creative is cool or something, it is about finding the players who can make the next step with us.”

I’m not really interested in things from other clubs. They can do what they want and spend as much as they want," he said

    Errerr..

That's the direct quotes...I'm failing to see where he directly criticises United. He states he doesn't want to spend that kind of money and shares his personal preference in how to build his team.

His only supposed controversial statement is that "he's not in a job anymore" one. Which I believe in the context of the whole convo he means if it just becomes buying the top 11 players and putting them on the field then his job as a coach that works with a team is no longer needed..he becomes redundant.

There's no insult there. Unless you're a thin skinned egotistical paranoid gobshite of course.

And he specifically says at the end he's not interested in other clubs or how they do things.

Defence first, second and third before maybe having one flair player to support a target man. He did that at Porto, Chelsea twice, Real and he'll do it at Man Utd too

Exactly, so if he takes the comment "I don't talk about other players, other managers like to do that " to mean him he is being a bit paranoid (like some others are) :emoticon-0100-smile

I long ago ceased to find Mourinho amusing. His never-ending narcissism and desperate need to be the centre of attention is really rather tedious.
I was genuinely dismayed to see him back in the PL - not because I'm afraid he might bring success back to Utd, but because yet again the media are going to be full of the meanderings of this thoroughly tiresome individual.

Got to admit, since he left Italy I don't think I have seen him crack a smile let alone be amusing. The first time Chelsea Jose I loved, used to even watch specialone tv because it was so much like the real thing

It really isn't because he's your manager, it's just that I find the whole circus he brings with him a bore - and we've heard it all before. There's a lot going on - top managers and players coming in, a fascinating season in prospect and I really don't want it to be all about him yet again.
He's only been back five minutes and already it's all kicking off around him. I'm just tired of it, tbh.

No argument from me, I didn't want him.
I would have preferred Ancelotti but now we have him I have to hope he will grow up and try to meet the expectations of the club. I would like to think that with a mature attitude his ability would give him the chance to make his legacy with us, I will not hold my breath though as I like living too much.

This thread is like a support group for crying Koppites! <laugh>

Love Jurgen's comment about not watching Liverpool if Mourinho was the manager. I think he's just about old enough to remember the 80's (given he's a glory hunter)!

Remember yes, but didn't exactly watch every game! I didn't really get into football until Roy Evans' was Liverpool manager; mid-90s.

I know I wouldn't watch because it was the same under Houllier for us. Rarely watched the matches whilst he was in charge. Same when Woy took charge (England too).

Football is meant to be entertaining.
