Was thinking this very thing the other day , except regarding Williams .
Nobody would have to sit him down though , he watched players careers ruined since he's been with us after they left .
Ayew IMO , was always on a schedule which included him leaving after a good season playing lots with a " Smaller " club to lget bigger clubs attention .
Willams is probably scratching his chin knowing players that left went South quick , and he would hate to have to ride the bench more than he used to .
Williams : Swansea Legend or forgotten on another team ......if it was me I'd stick it out for Legend status ...but that's me .
Can't imagine Ayew staying frankly , but would be nice .

I think that'll depend how much Everton are willing to pay him on wages. Its hard to turn down any employer who offer a substantial increase in wages regardless who they are. If they have bid £15M then with a heavy heart, I think that's fair for both parties involved

I agree - although, I'd still prefer him to stay.

Sell him if he wants to go, We dont want players who wants a London club which he obviously do as he has an option of northern clubs and was not keen....He is using us as a stepping stone anyway so he is not worth keeping against his wishes....sell him and grab the £20m which is a brilliant offer and forget about him.....London is a huge factor with a lot of foreign players....

Absolutely , good price for us and no probs cutting him loose if that's what he wants .
But to me , players are making so much money these days it gives them wiggle room to make a bit less for the sake of their " Legacy " .
Williams : Captain Beloved at Swansea .
Plays for the only club from Wales in the Premier , Wales his national team coming off a historic European completion .He may just say , hey give me a bit more money and I'll retire at Swansea and wait for my gold key to the City

Can someone explain the logic in this or am I being a complete numpty (before anyone says it as usual), Kyle bartley signed a new 1 year contract on 1/7/16 (according to wiki), then he is sent out on loan for that year, I cant see the point or am I missing something.

I suspect that Leeds will be picking up most of his pay, and the additional year means that we have the opportunity/possibility of securing a transfer fee for his services in 12 months time.

No - I believe that it's 12 months after that!

It was a 12 months contract extension

The last of his 3 year contract runs out next summer .
We get Leeds to pay his wages till then and thentheyget him for free , if they want him .
My guess no one would want to buy him , so let's get his last season's wages with us off the books .
    Haven't read anything that's says he's with us to 2018 ...

Also the club may think that a season on loan with regular football may help him develop into a player that'll be competing for a place In starting line up. He hasn't really had a run in the team for him to really develop for us. He's only 25 so still has time. Defender's don't usually peak until 25-30 anyway.

Why? If WHU haven't met our valuation we keep him. He's under contract at the end of the day. Imo, £20 million is peanuts when you consider Bournmouth signed Jordan Ibe for £15 million from Liverpool. When you consider that transfer, the bid on Ayew should be at £30 million.

Mate he signed a 1 year extension on 1/7/16 to his contract which was due to expire 30/6/17 so now he is contracted till 30/6/18. So Taff was spot on.
