The scale is so vastly different and what we did, didn't make us conquer British football - that is my point. It is still such a different thing. If you want me to acknowledge that we were richer than everyone else, then yes we were and I have already acknowledged that earlier. Similarities that are very, very small.

Yes but players problems quickly become club problems. If we refuse Fonte his move we can all say he "probably will do this" or "probably do that", but we don't know for sure. The only thing we do know is we will have a pissed off captain on our hands. I'm sure Fonte would view it as others have in the past, that he has earnt a move to a bigger club and we are being unfair twats standing in his way

Not sure why you guys would think Fonte Would go to united to sit on the bench....If he did he might get games this year but looking at United's history it is rare they play players beyond 34 in defence..so he would finish his career on the bench as back up, assuming he got regular games this year.
At the moment he has a slim chance of going to the world cup in a couple of years but no chance if he sits on the bench for long periods Imo.
He seemed happy enough when he went to the Euros, so why do we think there is unrest now?
Do we know if there has been official contact re a move? Or is it just paper talk?

 

Go to Man United & work under Jose Mourinho, probably be first choice this season and a good amount of game time next season as rotation or maybe first choice depending how he's going. Then back to Portugal to see the rest of his career out. I would wish the guy all the best, if the move was to happen.

 

I am coming round to the idea that it may be Everton (complete reversal of what I thought a couple of days ago). He really took to Koeman and he helped rally the wavering troops (and fans) when he arrived. Perhaps he feels left out of the decision making (as he would be) and is pissed off with having the sand shift under his feet. This would probably be his last move...that thought alone could unsettle a player. Although we would not want to lose him, he is approaching the time when it must be in Les Reed's mind....and we all know Les is pragmatic and not a man to spread oil on troubled waters.

Can't really see the point of inventing things to worry about. What if the Liebherrs get all their wealth inpounded for money laundering and the club gets liquidated by the FSA?
