Pakistan bowlers were all in by end... had Anderson not lbe on last ball finn might have hacked 20 more. At the start hales and cook got loads of really good deliveries
Hales has been unlucky. All his dismissals were from decent balls. They did not at start where we're showing hales getting good ball after good bal while cook was getting short and wide ones and half volleys on leg stump! I guess you own your bad balls, but just way things go sometimes. No rush to drop yet, and no one really pushing to replace him as far as I can see, but probably needs to start getting some 50s and a hundred.
Yeah if he'd last 2 hours he'd get a big score. The 3/4 balls prior were all close too, ha e to put bat there and they just got the edge. I'd agree, it's not like baldly. This lad has earned his shot but he's got to get in. Vincent got in today and got 39. I'm more disappointed in that. Bairstow done AGAIN with horizontal bat. He is being set up and keeps playing same shots.
Going ok after the initial set back. Need to not allow partnerships to start building. Any kind of lead could be hugely important in low scoring games.
pakistan are playing their game that won them the first test... stand and wait, stand and wait... they have faced a huge amount of falls for virtually no return. Cook scored his 45 off 50 odd balls. long term this allows them get i nthe game and will be in it at end.. if england get a run of 5 wickets they will still be in it.
very serious now... if we don't go through them like a dose of salts in the next session they are going to win. we've delayed spin too long cos the ball had a shine on it and we put the ball in too short.
