95% of Monty Python is a load of unfunny ****e.
There are a few exceptions but very few.
The same goes for their films. I would say every Python film was absolute toss apart from one.
The odd thing is, the one decent film they made, Life of Brian, is possibly the greatest film ever made.

Most of it hasn't aged well. I agree with the 'Life of Brian comment' - parody genius

PS: some bits of The Holy Grail were funny as **** and timeless - "oh, King eh!?"

I'd have to agree with that too. I'm not a fan of Monty Python but Life of Brian is one of my favourite all time movies.

Some of it does seem a bit cheap and unfunny these day, but I think you have to remember that for it's time, it was radical. It was the first time that abstract comedy was being shown on the TV and people hadn't really seen anything like it before. Monty Python laid the foundations for the whole genre of slapstick / abstract / nonsense comedy that came after it.

I'd bet that if you put it to any comedian, they would put Monty Python in their list of influences.

I know this isn't a novel opinion, but I liked the films more than the TV program. Life of Brian and The Holy Grail were quality, but the TV shows were just a bit too daft at times.

Have to agree with that. Working Class Playwright was cracking and there was a quiz show with karl marx, Mao Tse tung and Che Guevara which was pretty funny but by and large it was a bit too silly.

There were some funny bits, but when they refined it and made it more "mainstream" in the films, it was brilliant.
