If you don't notice a change from 3.5mbps to 34mbps then either the device you are using has a bad wifi adapter or the TalkTalk wifi hub is a piece of ****. You should also contact them about getting poor connection in bad weather and the glitches.
I don't think it got great reviews, but nevertheless, I quite enjoyed that series. Is there going to be a series 2 I wonder?
Done all that. Left TalkTalk because of their dreadfull (no, really, really dreadfull) service and restictive traffic shaping. I installed a replacement router for their awful thing, improved wireless speeds. The router supplied by SE is actually a rather good ac thingy, I wasted £110 on a replacement because I assumed it would be pants. I also (slightly illegally) installed new top grade BT wiring from where it enters our house. I also use 500mbps Homeplugs for the media centre and Sky now box. All improves things a little but the real problem is we're right at the limit of being able to get fibre at all and BT, TalkTalk, Sky and SE have all offered a gallic shrug to any complaints. For what it's worth Sky were the best provider, didn't seem to traffic shape, reasonable customer service, but as we don't take sat tv anymore . . . . . . . . Broadband, the only thing you're asked to sign a 18month contract for before you know how much / how well it will work!
I was lucky. Before I got Sky Fibre I had Orange as I got it cheap with my work at the time. Their net is the worst of the worst, I couldn't even connect my Playstations by wifi as it wouldn't recognise them. When I complain and said I wanted it out, they tried saying I had to pay £300 contract costs. I complained to Ofcom and within 2 days Orange phoned me saying they would cancel my contract for free.
Apparently my monthly use is 94gb!!? I'm guessing that's mainly downloading films from SkyHD but I was surprised.
Yeah it's surprising how much is used on very little. I have Sky Q, so get the UHD movie channels soon. Glad I have unlimited...
Meh! I got married and signed a life time contract, with no idea how well it would work, or how much it would cost!!
Congratulations Beef. For what it's worth judging someone's demeanour off a forum only, but she's bagged herself a good man too.
