It has finally stopped raining here and promises to be a nice day, warm with a cool breeze! Off to do my shopping before it gets too warm!
Morning all, looks like a day for doing things as tomorrow the forecasters suggest that we might see some rain. If we do it will be the first in three weeks and I will be quite relieved it it helps to re-fill my water butts. We had reason to go into the centre of Poitiers a little while ago, and knew that we would have to find somewhere to park for maybe an hour. Not going there very often I was not sure of what car parks or meters would be available. I found a meter within a very short walk of my destination, so had a look to see what it would cost. Nothing was the answer as it was lunch time, and it would be unreasonable to expect people to pay between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm. I have come across this quite often in my travels, and it seems a very civilized attitude.
Unlike the 'free parking' at leeds Bradford airport which is free for 60 minutes and then £30 for 61 minutes onwards and if, for once, your families flight from Limoges is delayed you have to keep going out and back in the free parking barrier
What do the bloody Metro know anyway? http://metro.co.uk/2016/08/01/yorkshire-day-10-reasons-yorkshire-is-the-absolute-worst-6041498/
Morning, Dave; morning, all. Got gently a little bit Brahms yesterday in the garden, playing croquet with the kids. Got a bit sunburned on me bonce and shoulders. Beautiful day. Here's to another!
Morning all, what joy to see some rain after three weeks of cloudless skies. Light showers at the moment, proper steady stuff this afternoon and maybe some heavy downpours this evening are forecast. Watering here and at my daughter's house while she gets wet in Wales has felt like a full time job.
I think it was written tongue-in-cheek - but they're certainly wrong about Yorkshire getting the most medals from any part of the UK in 2012.
Sounds nasty, but I suppose it's the sort of tough training regime that top athletes like yorkie have to put themselves through.
Friday evening, and time to keep up with how Chateauroux are doing in their first match of the season. Half time and they are winning away from home, and the live table puts them top of the league. Be good if Watford could win their first game away from home.
