Speak for yourself fella. I'd rather lose more games and compete in the country's top league. Grew up watching us piss the Championship(and all it's other names) I've always wanted us to break the yo yo curse and consolidate.

All the mags are doing is accepting Mediocrity for a sake of a few goals. I find that pathetic personally and certainly don't want to be put in the same boat as them.

I'll always force a laugh at the endless Magtravaganza but actually laughed out loud at this .......

........ they're really not right in the head.

I expect that's the kind of desperate straw clutching that comes when a 'major power' fails to win a current major trophy for 60 years <doh>

I agree with Cumbrianmackem would far more enjoy us winning the championship than watching the ****e we dish up every season.

12 months ago Leicester were one of the relegation favorites. I'd be devastated being relegated when the top flight has been blown wide open, especially with our finances not being a patch on the Mags. I wouldn't be as confident of coming straight back up as the Mags are. A relegation could see us close to ruin and not winning championship games too. Big risk to chase a few wins which isn't even a given. No no, not for me. I want us to stay where the money is, competing against the best trying to rase us to a level of consistency which I've never seen in my life time. After all, how can't one question the ambition of our club when fans are wanting less for us.

I bet I'm not the only one. Which is why folk should speak for themselves and not overs.

I agree entirely Bri if we showed any ambition at all of wanting to do better but we continually serve up dross I enjoy the championship even when we don't get promoted but i would obviously enjoy it more if we could do it in the prem.<ok>

We produce dross because the club is being ran into the ground. Don't shoot the patient when you can amputate the arm. Or according to some aspirations, let the infection spread and die a slow painful death and pretend it's a collective consensus <laugh>

    But,
I think you've misunderstood my sentiments here, there is no way I want my club winning regularily in a,lower league, we have to compete in the top division and for the past ten years we gave been doing just that, albeit not very successfully.

Most fans just want to see a winning team and I wish the Mags good luck for the coming season, I however feel their immediate return to the premier League is not the forgone conclusion some on here seem to think.

The Championship is an unforgiving environment and unless Benitez gets,it right then despite signing practically a full new team they will be in for a rude awakening.

Some of the games I went to, last season, were unforgettable ......... much better than the Newcastle supporters had to suffer.

I went to Swansea, Palace, Norwich and a glorious home game against Everton.

I followed that up with a fantastic weekend at Watford which I'll never forget, the support was first class.

Newcastle were relegated by Sunderland .............

I'm not expecting miracles but so long as the club shows effort and battles for right to stand side by side with the countries elite then I'm happy. While we're in this league we're always just going to be that one mid table finish from being given a real opportunity to consolidate adequately. We've got the right manager, I may not be happy with the owners off field tactics for the club but I know he wants us to be here.

Just strive to be the best we can be and not be happy to go down because the games are easier and we'll get wins and a get a bit more enjoyment out of the game(of which there's no guarantee)

I made the mistake of asking Sissoko if he was looking forward to the new season

You should hear them talking, man. Some were saying nobody deserved to wear the number 9 shirt for Newcastle, this season coming up.

I don't understand, every club has a number 9 shirt. What's so special about Newcastle's?
