Good Morning Everyone, Is Bridcutt about to sign? If so, will he make the opening day of the season? Who would he replace in the team? Is there enough room for Bridcutt and Dave? Is Grimes (the season long loan from Swansea u21 International going to be a first choice regular? (I will be back in an hour)
Morning all, pretty sure Dave will start, depends on what Bridcutts preseason was like I guess (in regards to him starting) if he signs. The starting 11 against Atalanta will pretty much be it for us, Coyle RB until Berardi is match fit and Mowatt for 60 minutes then I would expect to see Hernandez. Has there been an announcement as to who is captain this season?
Hearing Bridcutt signs today and a signing from France ? which will make 12 new players if you include young Billy. Steve Evans has published his projected top 6 on talksport this morning, we aint in it. sour grapes or because he knows we dont have enough to compete against parachute paymnents.
I can't see dave not starting even if Bridcutt is in the best shape of his life. From what I have seen of Monk's teams he likes to set up very hard working, defensively tight and simple passing until the final third where 4 players are practically roaming (ie. Striker, wingers and man playing in front of midfield) so if that is the case Bridcutt and dave would start alongside each other. I guess he could be thinkin differently though.
We shouldn't be placed in anyone's top 6 predictions. We ain't starting the season as one of the best 6 teams in the division imo. If it happens it'll be going under the radar more than anything else.
Morning all ... pleased with Bridcutt joining, but still very concerned that we are lacking badly in defence ... love or loathe George Graham, but he always built his team from the back on the basis that if you don't concede then you don't lose on the plus side Dallas and Roofe give us genuine width, both know how to play their positions and they also work hard to help the full backs when not in possession ... Mowatt is a worry because he looks a bit short of Championship quality right now, but we know he has the ability to genuinely shine (wonder if the emergence of Cook knocked him off his stride) ... Viera is a talent, expect him to be introduced gradually to allow him to adapt to the rigours of the Championship hopefully we can add at least two more defenders soon, then we can genuinely look at taking on this division, because it is possible to get a top six (look at the very ordinary Ipswich last season) as for Evans, the sombrero and flip flops picture sums him up best Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning pal, expect Sacko and Grimes to be pushing for a starting position. Shame that I am so injury prone as I can play centre back or left back
Good evening Josh. I disagree with you there I think we will sneak into the playoffs spot but will be there or thereabouts most of the season.
I think berardi was the natural choice although I don't know if this has changed as he has injury problems
Morning. I think the second or third bottle of red me and the mrs sunk last night was dodgy. We have both got a bad head and "other" issues this morning.
I listened to Steve Evans on Talksport too. I like it how he claimed responsibility for the signings of Roofe hamster possible signing of Bridcutt
Your own fault, Chips. Didn't anyone evr tell you not drink the whole bottle? The headache and 'other issues' lie at the bottom of the bottle.
On paper there are easily more than 6 teams that are better than us almost position for position. Not saying we won't get top 6 but it'll take a real effort and other teams not performing to the full extent of their talents.
Agreed - Not sure how people are predicting a top half finish for Leeds - obviously know fook all about football. All the teams that finished higher have strengthened whereas Leeds are weaker - be amazed if Leeds finish higher than last season. If Taylor goes, will be a disaster of a Summer for Leeds (if it isn't already). Also the manager appointment is questionable too - failed abysmally at Swansea and apparently clueless when the going gets tough (which it will from day 1)
