just read this on the BBC site. Would anybody like to see this guy come in on loan or a possible small fee purchase? the fee from Diame might be enough to tempt Everton. Also Aiden Mcgeady appears to be available. Whats everybody's thoughts on these players?

Garbutt I'd take as a cheap back up to Robertson. But the rest of them aren't very good. Admittedly I don't think Niasse got a fair crack, but there's no way the likes of McGeady should be anywhere near a Premier League club this season.

City 'bid for Phil Jones'

Reports that Hull City are after Manchester United defender Phil Jones this afternoon.

The Daily Record have said Hull initially proposed taking Jones on a season-long loan while Steve Bruce was still in charge.

United are now waiting to see whether Hull will intensify their efforts to get the England international, the paper said

I'm sure we're after a lot of people, but to sign them you actually have to make offers and open negotiations.

I'm not sure but isn't Jones in his mid twenties still?
His best years are in front of him and would be a welcome addition to our squad.

HULL REJECT MAGUIRE BID

We understand Hull City have turned down a second offer fromMiddlesbrough, thought to be around £5m, for defender Harry Maguire.

Phil Jones would be an amazing signing, but we haven't a prayer at the moment. If we still had Bruce and **** wasn't quite as bad as it is now, I could see how an out of favour Jones would be tempted to come play for him on a loan with view to buy but with our situation now? No ****ing chance.

The two reported rejected bids over the past week should offer a slight sense of encouragement, as if dumb and dumbest motherfucker of all time were genuinely intent on asset stripping, reckon Maguire and Robbo would both be gone by now, but I'm not sure whether they could just be playing the 'arch negotiatiors' they are in trying to hold out for that extra bit of cash.....
