Zack Snyder really does have to take some criticism. I think he's a brilliant cinematographer in that his visuals are often superb, but his films are often overblown too. All of the films I've seen of his end up boring me to an extent because of the ill-judged [in my opinion] pace of the stories. I find that if I see Zack Snyder as director notice on a superhero film now it's a demotivator to watching it.

The least visually ambitious Snyder film I've seen is Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition [just over three sodding hours] and it was actually the most enjoyable. The most visually ambitious film was Watchmen, which looks glorious, but bored the pants off me for much of the time. My main memory of Man of Steel was wishing it would just get going.

I tend not to watch superhero films, so when I do have a look I want the film to take it itself deadly seriously. I remember back in the Christopher Reeve/Superman time that when the films started to inject humour they lost all their credibility. Hence number 1 and 2 were OK. The 3rd was appalling.

I can imagine something like Deadpool would make a change if you've seen quite a lot of superhero films.

I really liked Deadpool, funny movie and the character was played perfectly by Ryan Reynolds. Great mix of camp humour and extreme violence...one of my favourite superhero films along with Watchmen and the Christian Bale Batman films

Yep got confused. So basically DC haven't made a good movie since the Bale Batman ones.
