No offence to our beloved right back but the words 'back of' and 'truck' spring to mind. Charlie is a shoe-in at right back.
Back to the drawing board then! Memory must be playing tricks, Clemence and Leonhardsen were tall in my memory.
I'm catering for all here. The "Corluka look" is taken by Krancjar in my team. So i guess it should be the "Krancjar look"
Tallest - take 2 Thorstvedt Younes Kaboul Anthony Gardner Goran Bunjevčević Timothy Atouba Poyet King Dozzell Anderton Kanoute Crouch To be honest, I had Kanoute and Crouch (obvs) and then struggled. Couldn't go with full backs, I suspect Bale is the tallest we've ever had - cue smart arses. Edit: of course Atouba - he was giant.
For tallest, full backs and wingers are difficult. For every Anderton or Bale on the wing, we had several Ruel Foxs Aaron Lennons or Jose Dominquezs. Equally Full back - Atouba, Ziege and Kaboul are the exceptions comapared to the likes of Benny, Rose, Lee (sounds like a a stripper?)
British XI Robbo Walker King Woodgate Rose Lennon Parker Carrick Anderton Bale Kane Could actually swap Bale for Sheringham for a strictly 'English XI' and it would still be a bloody good side!
Too attacking, that side has a lovely balance to it. I was gutted when Barmby left. He was one of a rather long list of players who have left Spurs over the years to seek greater glory only to fade into obscurity.
You're quite right. Hull born and bred. Although why anyone would get homesick of a place like that is beyond me
The 'Savage Exit Strategy'. Unfortunately, for Savage he didn't do his homework as the club he was leaving was closer to home than the one he was joining. Dumb Ass!
Barmby seemed to have a falling out with virtually everyone, for some reason. He'd do well for a bit and then have an argument, get dropped and then never get back into the side. Sold to a new club and repeat. Quite odd, as he's often described as a quite lad and a hard worker, so it's tough to work out.
Tottenham Nordic XI Erik Thorstvedt Teemu Tainio Gudni Bergsson Roger Nilsen Erik Edman Gylfi Siggurdsson Allan Nielsen Christian Eriksen Oyvind Leonhardsen Steffen Iversen Eidur Gudjonssen Not a bad side at all.
That's horrendous if true! I did a bit of investigating and he went on record in 2002 to say that the move had nothing to do with feeling homesick, he just felt that after El Tel left the club lost its way and he didn't like the way Sugar was running things. He got that right!
