    skin of teeth.

She appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ruled UK Anti-doping's doping control officer had failed to follow procedure and her August 2015 missed test was declared void.

it seems you get 3 strikes in this not 1 as poor innocent rio got... OR did we just not get told about his crimes?

for me this is a serious let off and it looks to me like dodgy stuff.

she was tested the day after the first missed test and was clean, this may have helped her case, but Rio just ran away when the testers turned up.

Standard is set these days that you need to notify UKAD of your wherabouts for each day with specific i will be exactly at X for one hour i.e. between 10 and 11 o'clock. the issue appears to be for the first test she was where she said she would be but the testing officer didn't follow correct procedures for checking where she was which was apparently in her team hotel.
She is one lucky athlete tbh and it don't look too good considering cycling's past and to some extent present

    So was Ferdinand IIRC.

Funny as **** to see this after all the bleating by British media about Russian drug cheats.

    slightly different
Rio knew the testers were there and left anyway
Russia has been clearly running a state sponsored doping programme which automatically makes all their athletes suspect.

but as i said in previous post she is very lucky and it don't look good the second and third missed tests are the worrying sign when she had already missed one though it was that first one which got her cleared on a technicality.
shame as anything she achieves now will always be tainted by (legitimate) suspicion

years ago ,if my dodgy memory is correct approx late 70's early 80's , the Pan American games announced for the first time ever they would be drug testing at the games . Huge numbers of American athletes promptly withdrew <whistle>

I think this is significantly different, here you are being asked to make yourself available every day whereas Rio was already at the game and ran away when told to do a test

To me it sounds the testers are like delivery people. You wait in all day but they can't even be bothered to ring the bell and find a "we missed you card" or get a text saying "delivery attempt failed" when they just couldn't be bothered doing their job.

    How so?

"She appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ruled UK Anti-doping's doping control officer had failed to follow procedure and her August 2015 missed test was declared void."

"CAS ruled that the UKAD doping control officer had not followed required procedures nor made reasonable attempts to locate Armitstead," a statement on behalf of Armitstead read.

"CAS also ruled that there was no negligence on Armitstead's part and that she had followed procedures according to the guidelines."

which is what i said but she missed 2 other correct tests plus you ignored all the hundreds of other correctly carried out tests most of which are the out of competition tests referred to in this case.
so no they are not like your Yodel delivery man unless you hand over a urine specimen in lieu of a tip <yikes>

According to the write up it sounds like
    1. tester couldn't be bothered looking for her
    2. paperwork error
    3. family illness

I don't give a **** anyway but the Sakho case has revealed how astonishingly ******ed testers can be without a single care for professionalism or ruining people's careers

I remember being young and innocent and thinking how terrible it was that Lewis was robbed by Ben Johnson like that.
