Was just thinking about our CBs. If we favour injury-prone CBs (we've got 3!), should we think of signing up Woody if he's still playing, and make it a quartet? OK, I'm in a silly mood. Time for a Grampa nap.
I have it on good aurthority millwall never took a bribe, they lost every week purely because they are ****.
Yup Woodgate is still playing and he's a free agent but I've noticed that Paul McKay has a squad number and is a CB so we've got 4 CBs but I'd like a 5th one
Billy, whilst I kind of agree about Mowatt, I don't think it's right to use Taiwo and Wood as examples, these were lads plucked out of the academy. Cook, Byram and Taylor are established 1st team players with championship experience. In these circumstances, the club should trust the judgement of academy and first team manager as to how good they are. By signing them on short contracts we will have lost three first team players who still have the potential to improve massively for a combined amount of less than 15 million (Liverpool got that for reserve player Ibe). That is seriously under value for homegrown players at an age where there could still be a massive sell on fee for the buying clubs.
Is it him and he's agent? Seems to be the usual modus operandi when Cellino wants to sell one of the youngsters. Same pattern as his tenure at Cagliari and dare I say it exactly as predicted by maligned 'anti Cellino' brigade.
Also love a good news story doc, and with a close mate going through chemo at the moment a real ray of hope. Good luck fella.
Guess we won't know the facts for a while. If they come out against the club Cellino supporters will say sour grapes. If against Taylor Cellino haters will say no wonder, Cellino has divided the fans more so than any previous owner. Looking at just the facts... End of last season, Cook, Taylor and Mowatt were set to sign new contracts as publicity push, Cellino called it off. Byram and Taylor best buddies Byram and Taylor have same agent When Byram turned down a contract offer Cellino called him greedy Cellino had a spat with that same agent Cellino sacked Redfearn and Ward, Hart left over wage offer. Cellino accused agent and Taylor of not answering phone. Evans treated shockingly, no preseason or report back date was set, players wondering what is going on. Cellino verbally attacks Taylor, said he won't sell him due to poor way conducted himself.. Seriously, I love Leeds and if Taylor was my son I would tell him he is mad to sign a new contract.
macgreedy on his way to Villa which means more than £400k to us but obviously wages from Villa will be more than Norwich offered the greedy twat
I feel more positive still about this season, I hope we keep Taylor... Although I feel more positive I don't forgive or forget the way Cellino has run us like a circus act on a budget.
£12 million for a Championship Striker, it's ****ing ridiculous. I can remember when Marcus Stewart went to Ipswich for £2 million and that was crazy money. The strike force of Moore, Blake, Cresswell, Healy and Hulse didn't cost half of that
But why wreck your head with the ifs buts maybes. It's a new season , new coach, new managers. I don't care who did or didn't sign or stay but will. There's just too many involved in each transfer to be bothered trying to analyze who did what and why
Ell, he came through at Lincoln where he made his debut aged 16 ... Arsenal and Liverpool wanted him and he went to Anfield, played twice but was loaned to Scunny then Leicester where he won promotion from Lge One ... Leicester signed him permanently, and after a season in the Championship he was sold to Hull and won promotion to the Prem ... it was at Hull that he suffered his first injury problems, and after promotion they sold him to Forest where he has struggled with two bad injuries ... he is still highly rated within the game, but his injuries have curtailed hs progress although the feeling is that if he can stay fit he will be excellent ... another Woody?
