SUNDERLAND are ready to bid for Anderlecht giant Kara Mbodj.

"New boss David Moyes has made an inquiry about the £8million-rated Senegal defender as he fights a losing battle to keep Lamine Kone.
Centre-half Kone, 27, is wanted by Everton. Moyes turned down an initial bid from his former club, but the Toffees will now raise their offer for the Ivory Coast star to £18m. That could prove too good to turn down for a player who cost the Black Cats £5m from French side Lorient in January."

Kone reminds me of Christopher Samba, there's no guarantees he'll do well at Everton or anywhere else, nor is there any guarantees he'll do well under Moyes, but I reckon if he moves he might find out the grass isn't always greener elsewhere.

I don't rate him TBH! Certainly no better than what we already have! Might be OK as back up but not for that money!

A CB is only as good as his partner. He and Kaboul have clicked like a dream. He'll be lucky to find that relationship at another club. Big risk as he could easily find himself at the center of a defence which leaks goals. He should get his agent on it to get him a better deal here if he had any sense and continue his partnership. If he has a full season like 2nd half of the last they'll be bigger clubs than Everton sniffing.

I would be extremely surprised if Williams moves from Swansea. I know the lad and played football with him he was 19 and at Hensford Town. He told me he would finish his career at Swansea, he is not your typical modern day pro so I am not sure money would make him move.

As for us I would like to see us aggressively try and keep Kone, if 25m comes along then fine as we could then put that money to good use but we need a replacement lined up first.

Think Clark is another very good addition fr them up the road, I'd have taken him, especially as he's left sided.

    They should canter that league.

For once they are buying sensibly. Saying that they are mainly championship players and if they do go back up may need another overhaul next season. But yeah, massive favourites for that league.

If he wants out let him go. But only after we get this other beast in plus Mvila cos there should be no problems with the excess cash were getting to pay the fee and his wages, and Fellaini.
    Then he can go.

Why would Kone want to go, though? After last season's finale he knows what the club is like and Everton are on the re-build too. Doesn't make sense to me.

If it's just cash then we should give him more or tell him to **** off if he's asking for too much

Think that's the term - to you and me, their £25000 weekly wage is an annual earning (not presuming I know what you earn Sid but talking generally) - If a company offers me £52k a year for doing the same job I'm doing currently, I won't turn it down - why do we expect footballers to think differently just because the money is far higher. In reality they are no different to me in that they want to earn more. The love for a club is secondary for a lot of them. (Sadly!)

In today's echo he said he will buy British !, so who do you believe ? we need players in fast now though, tie is running out. I would not get out of bed for less than £30,000 a week !

Just been reading that Kone has been offered £70,000 a week by SAFC?

I trust your judgement however I don't think signing a defender from Aston Villa is a good move....

You guys need to keep hold of Kone. It's a no brainer. ES needs to put his hand in his very deep pockets and stop messing you about.
