Swansea’s openness to the Everton approach represents a surprise so close to the new Premier League season but the deal will yield a healthy profit on a player signed for £300,000 in 2008. Williams has two years remaining on his contract at the Liberty Stadium. - Guardian

We have saved a fortune in wages, let alone transfer fees, Ayew next! Oh and Sevilla forward Fernando Llorente has spurned the advances of Swansea City in order to remain in La Liga............<laugh>

Former Wales striker and BBC Wales pundit Iwan Roberts says he is worried about the transfer policy. "If these rumours are true I would think Ashley's head would be turned at 31 to go and play for a big club - but for £10m he's irreplaceable," he said. "You could see Ashley leaving and there's a big question mark over Ayew. "I can't see Swansea turning £20m down when they got him on a free transfer. "There's only two weeks to go - there's a lot of work to be done at Swansea City and I am worried for them." - Iwan Roberts/BBC

Makes you wonder with these sales and moving big earners off the books if we are financially in the $hite?

Valley I don't know WTF is going on at the club. All I do know is that the signs aren't good. If the club doesn't get their act together I can see protests happening, which isn't good for the reputation of the club and the players on the pitch.

I sincerely hope that I'm wrong but I'm getting less optimistic about the future of our club.

I can see one taking place Saturday if Ash and Ayew leave.

When the new owners said that they'll take to club to the next level I didn't think they'd mean next level of ****!

If Ash and Ayew goes the club needs to show some intent in the transfer market because there is going to be a lot of angry and concerned fans out there.

I'm probably one of the biggest Huw Jenkins supporters out there but even I'm a little concerned with the way things are going. I can see the appeal of selling Williams on at his age and God knows the guy deserves a big pay day but with the wage bill seriously lowered and if ayew goes aswell then the club HAVE to sign a top striker and not some old as **** reject. If they don't I think we can safely say the takeover was not what was promised. If that happens we as fans should seriously consider making our voices known, we're the best supported team in Britian (if you leave out dai) and I'll be dammed if I let some money grabbing yanks take us under.

Williams wanted to go , deserves to go , and the club are doing the right thing to let him go .
My problem is I Think the club knew he was going a long time ago and Guidolin and the Americans probably weren't told , before Guidolin came and before the Americans took over .
Williams departure along with our trouble bringing in a proper striker could have other players scratching their chin on what they might do

The biggest mistake the Americans have made was keeping Huw Jenkins on board. He should have been shifted out with the players we've got shot of.

Looking at it clinically the Ash sale does make sense BUT only if the transfer money is used to secure the new players in August. I would have thought the Ayew and possibly the Ash deal would be agreed with a dependency clause on replacements being secured first

And who would you have running the club then? Maybe a yank with absolutely no experience in running a premier league club?

I'd say give Curtis the role as director of football or something like that. Someone to liaise with the manager and board of directors and make the general footballing decisions.

Curt is an ex football player, and as much as I like the guy he's absolutely not the man to be chairman of the club.

Well we possibly have 1 player leaving, and you are falling to pieces because of it, there's not much hope for you if you can't see the bigger picture that players come and go, the club stays. Ash is no different to Gomis in wanting away if that is what he decides, you blame Huw but he's staying and the player is going, who do you think has the most say in this decision?
