I agree Dai, even though Siggy most probably would be a good captain I think he should concentrate fully on his game. Cork is a good shout
I think that Siggy is the only natural replacement for captain, no one else comes close, you do not have to have a defender, some of the best captains are midfielders. "Williams is a worrying one, he would be hard to replace," said Gabbidon, who played alongside Williams for Wales. "He's about to turn 32 - time is running out for him a little bit and he probably deserves to play at a higher level and test himself against the best in Europe." He will be tough to replace, and I doubt we will replace him, judging by the way things have gone so far this transfer window, I think we will just use Amat, and while he is good, he has a long way to go to fill Williams boots. We are seriously cutting the wage bill, just hope we can keep our PL status.....
I agree , Siggy for Captain ....unless we resign Tate . PS Looks like Tabanou is joining Gomis in Marsielle.
I'm curious to know what higher level do Everton play ,the last time I looked they were in the same league as us and not some regular CL team .Bollocks comments from a scummer.
What a cock! They've been at our level since we've been in the PL, and finished above them a few times too To test himself against the best in Europe, he better go to Arsenal. Edit: Just seen Boundy's comment above - fully agree there.
Agree, Everton is not really a step up, Arsenal would be, he must just be going for the pay day, though he is on £2 Million with us, maybe he will have second thoughts, though I doubt we will increase his wage much further. There is always a rumour around Ash leaving every season? how much more money does he want?. He's on £40,000 per week at the minute..............
Maybe and its a maybe perhaps it's not his choice to go , Gomis was shown the door along with Eder and Tabanou looks likely to follow with rumours about Ayew's sale being considered who knows whats happening .
If gylfi should ever be made captain then you can forget his outstanding play....It takes a special kind of player to be able to do two jobs on the field at once and i dont think he would be able to concentrate on his job at the front as well as orchestrating his players. He dont have the skill Martinez or monk had imo. As for Ash i will be very surprised if he leaves at this stage of his career and what he has achieved with the swans and Wales, He knows the grass is not always greener and he may flop and lose everything like many have before him.....If he fancies it then good luck to him but at his age and what he has it will be a shock.....
How will he lose everything? His status at Swansea is sealed, he'll go down as one of the greats. At 32 years of age, I wouldn't mind being a 'flop' on £4 million a year - of which will either be a 3 or 4 year deal.
