Hello all ... look around the Championship and see what the other clubs have done in the transfer market ... only Newcastle look to have added something decent, but on the flip side they have also lost some players ... the key to doing well in this league is the manager, and in Monk we have one of the top six managers in the Championship this is going to be a fascinating season for sure, and regardless of the size of your club, if your manager gets his team organised, working hard and playing with desire, then your club has a real chance of getting to the Prem ... the Championship is notorius for chewing up and spitting out clubs that falter under hesitant leadership, even where big money has been invested ... example: just relegated Fulham (promotion favourites) bought the then hottest Championship striker from Leeds for £11m and ended up fighting relegation with a talented squad because they had the wrong manager(s) this Garry Monk fella is a very sharp minded leader, he understands players and he is constantly seeking to improve himself and his team which creates a positive vibe ... he also understands Leeds United, and his call for our minus-15 points season's mentality when it was "LUFC against the world" shows how in tune he is with the Elland Road faithful and the positive influence they can have on the players ... fortress Elland Road and a siege mentality, Monk understands the need to be strong at home and making it a feared place for visiting teams to have to play at Monk can only spend what Cellino gives him, and so far he has definitely improved our squad, but he knows we need another CB desperately and I expect to see a signing in ths position soon ... against Atalanta we saw a fighting performance by a group of players determined not to lose, and this fills me with genuine hope that we can be in a position to challenge when a couple of the front runners begin to falter as is always the case in the Championship now, if we can get the Chinese money in Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thats a kiss of death if ever i've seen one. Hollowhead couldn't predict that a teenage boy is going to have a **** after watching a load of porn online. He is a master of talking bullshit, which explains why he works for Sky Sports now.
Is this the same Holloway you were willing to blow and call "King Ian the Lion" not so long ago? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I'm optimistic, Monk seems a decent capture but factor in working under Cellino it's a bit of a miracle that we attracted anyone. I am sitting on the fence at the moment waiting to see how it all unfolds, I don't quite understand (what I see as) the over the top assessment of Monk. He has never managed in the Championship, he inherited a squad built by Laudrup, he clearly had favourites and created a bit of a divide. No I'm not being negative, just realistic, let's wait and see how it goes for a few weeks before deciding Monk is the next saviour, we have been there and done that far too many times...
Evans lined up Bartley and Roofe... Sour grapes or genuine? http://www.insidefutbol.com/2016/08...ar-roofe-for-leeds-united-steve-evans/297764/
I don't recall anyone going that far Billy, he says the right things and he did keep us up in his first season which raised hopes for the second season which then ended in humiliation, in hindsight it would had been better had he failed straight away.
I am certain many will change theirs. How many points do you think we will get from those 4 games? Call it a benchmark of success. I would settle for three points.
Agreed. But if we have three points or less I will be hiding the razor blades from ristac, Chesh and Boggers.
Evans started to turn things around, he was told to avoid relegation and he did. I didn't like Evans as a person but with the tools he had he did an okay job. He brought in Bridcutt (who most want back) and Diacouraga who was one of the best players last season. Evans should have been given more time and no doubt with so many new players we might need time again, problem is Cellino will not permit that time. I will judge at Christmas time, problem for us is Cellino judges after around 8 games....
Not a chance in hell of you still having a wait and see attitude at Christmas. You will have jumped into a camp by the end of September,
Cellino might give him 8 games, but the bigger problem is Glory will start to boo if we don't beat QPR.
Not going to QPR. But if we get humped at home by Birmingham and Fulham I will be there and I suspect most of those there with me will not exactly be dancing in the aisles.
Pablo to Leeds? on 19:13 - Aug 1 with 467 views somrsetsimon Pablo to Leeds? on 14:14 - Aug 1 by Highjack. He was a little talented but he's two years older now so he's probably suffered about 300 niggling injuries since he's left us. If you read the Twitter posts by the Leeds fans they are really excited by this. You'd think they signed Lionel Messi- they are in for a bit of a rude awakening. on 13:42 - Aug 1 with 528 views Clinton. Has Monk forgotten how **** Pablo was in his last 10 games for us - worse player to play for us since promotion. itcgysphin WTF is Garry Monk thinking. Further proves the point that he is a **** manager please log in to view this image shandyjack Don't know what funnier - the fact Leeds have signed him, or the fact they happy about it
For £33 I am expecting to see a proper exhibition of free flowing attacking footie, preferably being played by us!
