Bernie will be happy today as his Mum in law has been freed without any payment! Yeah right, the same way as Bernie wasn't guilty of fraud but payed to stop the trial, allegedly that is.
Pirelli reveals images of Ferrari's first wide-tyre test http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/pirelli-reveals-images-of-ferrari-s-first-wide-tyre-test-804555/
Looks good. Reminds me of older cars Rear wing looks huge. Interesting that Ferrari testing slicks, inters and wets but Red Bull only slicks. Guess it's cause Ferrari can wet their track. I wonder if Ferrari will gain much of an advantage fro the tests? Interesting GoPro camera on the nose! I still think with all the reg changes for 2017 they should have gone for bigger rims. It would be more in keeping with modern cars. Plus it might have shaken things up more. I really hope they haven't messed up with the aero rules and cars can actually follow closely without destroying their tyres or loosing so much downforce they cant follow round the corners.
Bernie strikes again!!!! I read the other day that even with the radio ban lifted their were less radio messages broadcast during the German GP than during the last 3 years (different tracks, and from normal radio rules through to sort of bans etc). It is now becoming apparent why. As per normal Bernie has seen $$$$$. He is now going to sell the radio traffic to broadcasters at an additional fee!!!! The broadcasters need to stick together and not pay for he radio traffic otherwise he will start charging extra for pit cameras, access to drivers after race, extra to show podium.............. CVC and Bernie need to go asap. They are destroying F1 for the sake of short term money. They are alienating fans more and more and putting up more and more pay walls. I know Bernie is getting on a bit but surely CVC want to protect their cash cow to some degree? His actions is also killing the teams, less tv coverage, equal less sponsorship money they can earn. I can't believe any extra revenue Bernie is getting from paywalls and selling radio traffic is making up for the loss of sponsorship money to the teams. While F1 is a business it's a business than needs viewing figures and to encourage young people to start watching otherwise in 10 years F1 will be worth zero. UPDATE: Just read that Bernie might actually be selling full radio traffic as a premium on the F1 app so maybe not to broadcasters!!!
If it stays dry then we could have a mixed strategy race in Belgium. please log in to view this image
Interesting choice on tyres for Merc. I was guessing that they would take the PU penalties for Lewis at Spa. Then again they did choose their tyres a good few weeks ago. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
I don't understand the logic of only bringing the mandatory set? Surely it makes sense to try it in practice and therefore have it as an option in the race...?
Ferrari going all out on the softer tyres then. Rosberg and the Red Bulls making the mediums a real option it seems.
Yes it's an advert for Brembo. But nevertheless a very interesting insight into the contrasting braking styles of Hamilton and Alonso. http://www.brembo.com/en/company/news/formula-1-brembo-hamilton-and-alonso
Just thinking about KM's crash yesterday . What is the worst crash you have seen a driver get away from UN-INJURED . For me Kubica in Canada 2007 has to be right up there ,you can see his feet . he was one lucky lucky man !
Luciano BurtI, Spa 2001 springs to mind. Or Berger at Imola 1989... now I'm thinking about it, I could probably make a quite lengthy list.
brundle in the jordan.. snapped in half. the alonso accident at melbourne this year was quite bad. The webber car going end over end was quite spectacular. Panis at Canada?
Alonso in Brazil sticks in my head. Also an example of why you should obey double yellows. Crashing into someone else's accident.
