Other than they are a Prem club and it is his ambition to manage in the Prem, why on earth would anyone want to take the Hull job when they have a perfectly good one for the next 2 years. No disrespect to their fans but it looks like a pretty poisonous atmosphere there at present. On the field they have about a man and his dog fit for the start of the season.

What i would be asking myself is why did Bruce leave the job.

If as I believe he left because the owners are having a hissy fit because they can't change the name and aren't willing to fund transfers then what's the point in going to manage in the premier league if you're nailed on for relegation.

Absolutely. Hull fans seem to think and want Mike Phelan. Hope they get their man.

Reading between the lines it's exactly as you guys describe it.

Bruce knows how the current squad will fair in the PL. Seems there isn't the backing required to make the squad PL ready.
If the guy who built the team and achieved promotion doesn't want to endure a season struggling with them I can't see why you'd want to leave a setup like the Welsh one at the moment.

Having said all that I'm sure he'd get paid a lot more managing in the PL rather than his modest (by football standards) current reported salary.

Looks like Zola is favourite at the moment. Good luck to him, he'll need it.

be great 2keep him and the continuity in the set up going forward 2 the world cup qualifying stages.........after that he could try his hand again at club management no doubt.

nice news bfb, hopefully that's enough 2cull hulls needs and they look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative

Would like to see Coleman see out the next 2 years. I'd be happy with qualification for the tournament and would see that as success what ever happens once we get there.

Would give the FA time for succession planning knowing that Coleman will go at the end of the World Cup and I'm sure he would go with everyone's blessing.

Hull will be a Poisoned Chalice. Nothing to be gained by going there, just heartache and pain. Qualify for the next world cup and Coleman will get a choice of mid to low end Premier League or similar European gigs in a more harmonious position than Hull.

Good luck to whoever goes there. They'll need it.

Wonder what the odds on the un-appointed Hull manager being the first to be sacked are? Probably shorter odds than who they will appoint!
