Yes of course he is, he's also 31 and his position where he plays he's got a couple of years at best left of his career. We are lucky someone wants to buy him. We need a younger more hungry player to fill that space should he go.
But a quality one at that, not some defender that cost £2 million that couldn't get in the Ajax side.
You keep banging on about hindsight..... Surely the club must try to learn from their mistakes ? We've tried to replace players on the cheap and 'hindsight' has proved that it didn't work. We spent large on Bony and it worked. It's very simple.
I think a lot of people are drawing conclusions because a player cost a few million . A few well spent few million here and there got us Michu and Chico . I'd wait before I cut Van Der Hoorn loose , like we cut Eder loose . Ambition is one thing , but quality gems is what got us this far ....including Bony . Bought for 12 million and sold for twice that is still a gem Even Williams cost us only half a million .
Yes hindsight because people are slagging the club off for signings that didn't work, how about one that did for about £3m? Cork signed for us for about that, was he a mistake? What about Michu was he a mistake? Spending big doesn't mean it will work, Bony worked yes, but was it because we spent big? What about Gomis who signed for a large signing on fee, did that work? The mistake most people on here are making is that spending big equals immediate success, it's not always the case, take a look at Newcastle spending more than £80m last season, how did that work out?
No they don't! They say who they would like to have and in what positions, but it's down to the club to see if this possible, most don't get who they are after.
OK Jinx has been left in full charge by the yanks as they trust him to do the right thing, That was a big mistake on their part but how were they to know.....They will this season for sure......Jinx we know loves to make a profit and would sell his granny if he though it would make him a few quid, mistake No2. ..This season's transfer has been bizarre to say the least as we are getting rid of players without any replacements and that is mistake No3. Jinx is quick enough to sell key players for a profit but he is unwilling to spend any money on quality players even though he had the chance and let our rivals nip in and do the deal that ended our chance of getting our man and that was mistake No4........With the season just about to kick off we find ourselves short on quality and very let down by Jenkins and although i do expect him to bring in a couple of strikers that we know he wont pay the money he expects when he sells and we end up with them not scoring enough goals which will result in a relegation battle that i hope we can survive again, If we do get relegated then we know who to blame but also those who let him do it without making enough noise that they dont agree with the way Jenkins is doing things......Like all the coaches including sad to say Curtis......they needed to speak up more and stop being yes men when they dont agree with him....
..... and now Fernandez ? http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/07/3...afi-talks-arsenal-eye-evans-or-fernandez-in/?
I guvking give up with our boards incompetence. We will have to shove out our U23 for the first game at this rate. With the amount of players being linked with leaving, we could have sold three quarters of our first team. I would have expected this if we were relegated, but not going into another PL season. Relegation beckons at this rate.
The season hasn't even started yet. The window hasn't closed and yet you lot are talking about how you wish we would go down, but you have the balls to question the boards dedication to the club? Give it a rest, the board (especially) huw have bled and shed tears for this club. There's a club further up the m4 who probably deserve the same sh*t you spout towards swansea. Go swim away and change your colours to blue.
Gomis - Not replaced Eder - Not replaced Palo - Not replaced Ash - Will need replacing Then you have stories that Fernandez, Ayew and Gylfi are leaving - the fact is, we will not turn down the money that's reportedly being linked to these guys. We have every justification to criticise Huw after the way he has dealt with things the past 12 months. Huw has been rightly lauded for everything he's done, but this past 12 months show that he's no longer the person we need in charge of footballing decisions. We've also spend a peasantly £6 million this window, and have no strikers with the new season less than a fortnight away. At this rate, we'll be back down that M4 sooner than we think. I fear a fire sale here. They're assets stripping our club. 10 years of work destroyed in a week.
Don't think anyone is "wishing" we go down - what I've read is genuine concern for the Club and the desire to remain in the PL
Yes they did , and in doing so made an awful lot of money off the backs of it it's supporters who have also spend their money on supporting the Club with fair less disposable income to do so .Perhaps some aren't as one eyed as you appear to be .
Those players you mentioned apart from Ash you wanted gone from the club! You are not giving them a chance to replace them with other players, and you are slagging them off even before you know who is coming here. Also believing all rumours as if they are true is not exactly helping. I ignore all rumours as 70%-80% of them are simply crap, I read an article a few days ago that showed how often newspapers got it right, and it's not that often! In addition I'm not a big fan of the yanks, but they are not asset stripping the club! Possibly one player we wish to keep is allegedly on his way, this for a 31 year old at £10m, that is hardly stripping away assets! That is a player wanting to leave apparently, if he wants to go then we should be grown up about it and wish him all the best the same as we did with Allen, Davies and Bony. Stop crying for gawds sake, he's just one player, the club continues.
They've had months. Damn right I'm slagging them off, the new season starts in just 13 days, and IF Ash, Fed, Ayew and Gylfi leave, I have no confidence at all that they'll replace them with the quality we need. Those 4 leave, and we will be relegated. Why? Because we'll go back to poundland and spend another fiver. Ash isn't just one player, he's our captain and leader. You can't replace that for £2 million.
