Where will this all end? Asset stripping ? or Reducing the wage bill before investing in "better value" players?
Why have we sold Ash so cheap? Jinx needs to comunicate more, Whatever is left of our team will get a thumping week in week out this season........
Well if Ash has gone it's through his desire to leave, for me it's good business to have a 31 year old player leaving at £10m, I like Ash but business is business. Onwards to a new captain who wants to stay. I for one am not to upset if he goes.
If he's left he's the only one, the others who have gone are ones we didn't want here in any case, being melodramatic over spilt milk is unbecoming of you!
Spilt Milk! One of the best Centre backs in the Prem, being sold for £10 Million? Captain of Swansea and Wales? Your having a laugh.........
Because other clubs will now see that we will sell if the price is right. If other clubs come in with £20 million bids for Ayew and Gylfi, we will accept it.
Ash - Not replaced Gomis - Not replaced Palo - Not replaced Eder - Not replaced Don't think anyone is being melodramatic.
Don't forget Phil, we have a £2million pound defender who wasn't good enough for Ajax to replace one of the best CB in the PL.
Phil, get real please, he's a football player and a bit of a mercenary himself, how do you think we got him in the first place? The fact is he's 31, he has buy out clause in his contract, and if he wants to go then there's not a hell of a lot we can do.
Gotta feel for Guidolin, he's the one that will be getting the sack when our depleted squad inevitably fails in the premier league.. And he's the one that's given absolutely no control over transfers!
All clubs sell if the price is right, just look at Southampton selling their players over the last few seasons, they just got on with things after these players left. We'll do the same thing as them. I'm pretty sure though that the bids will not come in though, the West Ham for Ayew is a sideways move for him, the club is more than likely to offer him a better deal to stay.
But they replace quality with quality by spending money, we will buy poor quality to replace them, just like the signings of the past 3 windows.
He should have grown a backbone then and told Huw that he wanted to keep them and should be putting more pressure on the club to buy players. What's the worse that can happen? They sack him or he resigns with his reputation intact. It's times like this, I wish we had a Mark Hughes in charge. He wouldn't put up with this shower of $hit.
He's been widely regarded as one of the best CB in the league since we came up. We should have doubled his buyout clause.
Now you are using the benefit of hindsight, the club doesn't deliberately go out to waste money, some transfers work others don't. So don't presume things don't work when you won't know that.
I'm also looking at the money paid for these players too. We've bought on the cheap, and shock horror, 99% of the time, they will turn out to be rubbish. As it stands, we need to invest at least £40 million to replace the strikers we've got rid of and Ash. But we'll be lucky if we spend another fiver at this rate.
