I think we will take a while to get going I'm bit worried with injuries concerning our CB plus the fact not many signings have been made but I have the up most faith in DC. My Prediction - Iron 2 - 1 Gas
Irons Summer Ins And Outs So Far. IN Duane Holmes - Huddersfield Town - Free Sam Mantom - Walsall - Free OUT None
We will create chances. but will we take them/ We have massive issues concerning our keepers realiability and defenders (or lack of defenders) fitness. We need to play an attacking game otherwise we will invite pressure on ourselves and lose the game. Take the pressure off ourselves and attack and we must take our chances. If we do that we will stand a chance. If we dont do that we will easily lose. Im going for a 3-1 defeat.
GOING FOR A SCORE DRAW, PROBABLY 1-1. OPENING GAMES TEND TO BE A BIT OF AN ANTI - CLIMAX FOR THE HOME TEAM, LOADS OF OPTIMISTIC BUILD UP HOPING FOR A WINNING START TO THE SEASON AND THEY OFTEN FIZZLE OUT AND END UP A DRAW. AM HOPING OUR MOMENTUM WILL SEE US THROUGH TO COMING BACK WITH A POINT (AT LEAST).
Really tough game this. Scunthorpe were the form team at the end of last season and I expect them to be there or thereabouts this time.
Iron Pre-Season Results Stamford AFC - A - W 3-0 FC Liefering - A - L 1-2 Hull City - H - L 0-2 Rotherham United - H - W 2-1 Hartlepool United - A - W 1-0
I don't think we'll suddenly start losing. We've got a decent group of players who have a winning mentality. 1-1...
IMO DC today needs to put out a weak team against Cheltenham don't want to pick up any injuries before next weekend
Seeing that defenders are now back, that gives me some confidence. Keeper situation still worries me though.
They won their last 6 games last season an only just missed out on the playoffs. It's a baptism of fire this one...
Ref for the game is Ben Toner. He was ref last season in our 2-1 home win vs York before xmas and in our 3-1 home win vs Wimbledon back in March. He was ref for Scunthorpe in their last home game of the season vs Port Vale and Scunthorpe won 1-0.
