You'd have a couple of months at the most of large amounts of sending offs but they'd learn quickly. So much contention would disappear as well. If a video ref was only used for 'match affecting decisions' ie allowing a goal, giving a penalty, or sending someone off it wouldn't even break the game up much... it would probably be quicker than the time it takes for the ref to fight his way out of the circle of whinging players which we have currently.
One of our more perceptive posters had already pointed that out nit long after the game ended. "Does that mean our game against Man Utd will be cancelled as there will be no one left in Hull to man the buses, serve drinks in the pubs, dish up food?"
It wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference to be honest. When travelling 46 miles is too much for some for a semi final and they can't sell out their share of tickets in a 15,000 stadium then a game against their less well supported neighbours 200 miles away wouldn't affect a City game in the PL. The rugby teams have wanted kick offs altered when there has been a fixture clash have been playing but City haven't.
Rugby league is s hit, that's been official since they built the M62. Better to move on,plot up tactics to tar and feather those who want to destroy our great club. Eddie Waring OUT
They sold out their allocation, actually they sold out their second allocation as well, the tickets they had left on sale were from the third allocation which was initially reserved for the Wigan fans. Another way to look at it is that its at least 2X bigger than any away attendance we'll have this season in the PL.
The maximum allocation for PL games is 3,000 so that isn't exactly difficult. Comparing like to like they had about or 8,000 at a Cup semi final 46 miles away we had 36,000 thousand at a .Cup Semi Final 200 miles away with far more expensive tickets.
Or 20,OOO less than a semi final, we had, in the sport's premier cup competition, at a neutral ground.
I don't think we will be playing many semi finals in Doncaster this season do you ? Or get many ticket deals at £10 each with kids for a £1 in the PL Well done FC and lets hope they can actually win a game at Wembley ? Chuckled at one of the commentators describing it as 'the best game in the World'
Totally agree with this. I don't like F1 or golf but I would never have a pop at someone that does. If we all liked the same things than life would be boring. On saying that, don't get me started on pokemon chasing. The ****ers walk in out in front of cars to view, capture or whatever else you do with them. I told my 20+ year old kids, when we meet up if you get your phones out and start doing that **** then I will go home. Last week, I was treating them to a meal and when I saw the phone about to come out whilst on our main course I reminded them that I would walk out the restaurant leaving them to pay. The phone soon went back....result
I have seen allot about Pokemon .. I don't get any of that here in Jordan thank **** .. from what I have seen I just don't get it. Each to there own I suppose just like sport really. I like most sports and always have. If I was still in the UK I would have SP's for both City and FC I have even got to the stage of life where I don't mind Hull KR winning just not against the Airlie birds. Pleased there are a few on here who have a more balanced view though.
That is because you are only listening to guys on the street. if you listened to the commentators you would hear skill, tactics and excitement used. All of that was in abundance last night. The players are real men, they don't roll about like the fanny footballers we love to watch. I watched the rugby because it involved a Hull team. Had it been St Helens v. Wigan I probably would not have watched it. I didn't watch it for tough people competing.
Interesting point. Why doesn't the video ref at RL pull up the many forward passes, the ridiculous charade that it the scrum and the blatant punching the ball out of an opponents hands in the tackle ? I think it's because if they pulled it up for every offence the game would be like watching paint dry. It also appears that a certain amount of forward passes are allowed to make the game seem more exciting or fast flowing. No time for divers in football myself or players who throw themselves to the ground to get someone sent off or win a free kick/penalty. I do think that the officials in RL seem to have more authority then the majority of football refs, but besides that, it's not for me.
Because it is not the video ref job to officiate. The ref decides if the video ref is required or not. RL players seem to accept decisions like men...no hissy fitting etc
I don't go along with this 'accept decisions like men' Hearing this more and more when someone is trying to bull up both codes of rugby against football. I saw dissent from some players last night, it's only natural, but it's the way the ref handles it that either encourages it or stamps it in the bud that matters. As I said officials in RL seem to have more authority then those in football. But anyone who runs away with the notion that football is played by pansies has never played the game at a decent level themselves.
