We should make a partnership with a dutch club like Chelsea have with Vitesse.

I'm happy with farming out to the Spanish league.

I'm not sure animal husbandry is a useful transferable skill for a footballer. But playing in a half decent Spanish club must be better than being clogged to death in Rochdale.

It's not necessarily either/or. A certain Mr Schneiderlin reckons his spell in League One helped him a huge amount. Some may benefit from time abroad while some may benefit more from "clogging around" in League One.

Whilst I get your point, there is a slight difference between being loaned to a League One club, and being there with your own club which is already being geared to being a PL club.

Everton reject £57m for Lukaku from Chelsea, want £75m. The world has gone mental

Agreed. He's good, but he isn't that good. Nowhere near.

Lukaku is a 35 million pound striker, no more, no less.

    End of negotiations.

I guess if you have a player tied down on a long contract (not that I know if that is the case), and have an owner who is rich enough and happy enough to pour multi, multi millions in, then you can say no to anything other than an utterly ludicrous offer*. It's not like they need any more money.

*Which in my view £50m for Stones would be. At best he's half that. And even that could be argued.

You say that like it's the end of the matter. A player is worth the amount a team is willing to pay for him at the end of the day.

Yes, and you'd need to pick the right club but that's true of any loan. Crewe are a good example of a lower league club that were very good at developing younger players. I suspect (but don't know) that AFC Wimbledon might not be so good. The point is, it depends on what the young player needs. If a player needs to improve his technique then a stint in Spain would be perfect. In the case of Schneiderlin he admits himself he needed a bit of physical toughening and League One was a good place for that to happen. Would a loan to Spain toughen a player up as much physically? I suspect not.

Well I will never slag Sky Sports or The Sun again. ESPN has just said Man Utd are going to try to sign Fonte.

Unfortunately it would actually make sense for them. Experienced, quality leader. Portuguese - so I assume would love to work under Jose Mourihno.
Please God, don't let them bid!

I know that, and that's how football works nowadays. I'm just saying what shud be a realistic price. Unfortunately we are now entering the days where a million pound a week wages won't be far off, and it dosent matter if they play **** or not , they are still getting more than any normal person can dream of in a life time in the space of 7 days. Now I love football and always will , but that is plain wrong!

I'd say 50mill is a fair price for Lukaku. Young, proven goalscorer, extremely strong and has pace. Going to improve.

In today's market you're probably right tom. We paid what 12 million for Shane, is he really 4 and a half times better than him, no where near.

I'm sorry, you're all wrong. Lukaku and Stones are both quality.
