We really need to adopt a Head of Recruitment role at the club and employ someone experienced, because every year it seems we fail in the transfer market one way or another. Either that or give the managers more control over who we sign. Peter crouch, Valencia, Lorente are not the solution to our very serious striker problem. Not even as a back up. We need one who is gonna get the goals, (Bony quality) then another who is going to be an effective sub (paloschi quality). Then probably get a youngster on loan from a big club as backup. How can we be so close to the season with no natural strikers at the club? Outrageous behaviour.
But Ayew hasn't gone, has he!?! Being linked to other clubs is good, but there's no way he would be sold at that price
It has been happening for a while, when Monk was sacked the club had plenty of indication that his time was run, they delayed it for probably 3-4 weeks to long. yet when they do decide to sack him, they had no ****ing idea who to bring in s manager, they clearly hadn't thought it through and had no one lined up. Now as you say we have known for ages that we needed at least 1 maybe 2 strikers and as you say I am convinced they still have no idea who they actually want. Surely way before the end of last season their scouts should have been out identifying potential signings. Doesn't look like it was done. We are a joke at the moment. I am still hoping they will pull something out of the bag but I wont hold my breath.
If we sell Ayew for anything less than 30m then I'll be pissed. Redmond went from relegated Norwich for 11m. Townsend from relegated Newcastle for 13m and winjadlum for 25m. All scored and contributed far less than Ayew. Then Jordan Ibe goes for 15m and pissing Mane goes for 35m. Ayew is better than all these players. Minimum 30m or tell them to get ****ed.
I just think you ask silly money tell WHU if you want him then pay 40m, I know he isn't worth hit, but lets start high.
Nobody will pay anywhere near £30m for Ayew and we cant expect that when we wont pay £30m for a real striker. Why would we expect someone to buy a false No9 at that price.....
Will we have a team left. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-revive-interest-swansea-captain-8524068
I've said from the early days that Ayew would probably leave after a season and it would be for 18 - 20 million and if he goes , this will be the price . Some of the " Wishes " for some on here . Michu : 30 million . Siggy , 30 million Bony 40 million ( although suddenly when we want him back 15 million ...lol). Montero : 20 million Davies : 20 million . Asking silly money is one thing , Swansea fans asking silly money takes it to whole new level.
Why should we bend to the prices of others? Those prices there signify how important those players are to us. Either clubs pay what we tell them too or they can get stuffed.
There are release clauses in contracts, whoever comes in has to meet or exceed that, for players we wish to keep I gather the club will be quite strict on that.
Exactly, so either meet our valuation or get stuffed. Let's look at it this way, there's players in the championship going for £10-£15 million. Ayew, Bony, Michu, Gylfi etc are worth treble some of the fees in that league.
Under the same conditions , why should anyone else bend to the prices we want to pay . The bitiching on here for players that we don't want to pay for is pretty funny when we switch the shoe on the other foot
Because those players are not good enough or are too old Roof. The players I listed in my previous post are far better than the crap we've been linked with the past 72 hours.
No they shouldn't bend to what we want to pay and if they don't we walk away, likewise if people don't want to pay what we want for our players then we tell them to do one.
It's basic business sense you buy as cheap as you can and sell for as much as you can get . If both parties don't agree no deal.
" No they shouldn't bend to what we want to pay " ........that's right , it's a two way street . But when you get to a point when players want to leave and players don't want to come in .....you end up in a position we find ourselves IMO
Is this the reason we cant find quality strikers to come to us...We want to sell ours way over value but we are not willing to buy at the same price or match anyone else's value....
