This very competitive event is turning into the home straight, and yesterday's front pair are still out in front with barely a nostril between them, Red is 18 quid up on Reebs, but Reebs is the one doing the admin The rest look to be racing for 3rd place, being headed by Simon, Cyc, Stick and Doalittle, with the rest of the field tailing back to the toiling Chan, Saints having been pulled up and carted off to the knackers yard! Last day selections below please, and of course, good luck all
Reebs, whilst my returns are pitiful I'm reckon I'm marginally less **** than recorded. £400 win at 7/4 and £100 on the place at 12s
I'm struggling to see how this is incorrect Chan 400 @ 7-4 winner = 700 profit 100 ew @ 12-1 placed (1/5th odds) = 140 profit = 840 in total Anyone else agree? I did it in my head, but just checked again using Free Online Bets Calculator ...... EDIT: Now I am getting 240 (in my head maths that is) yet calculator show 140 profit from 200 bet. Anyone shed any light on this?
At 1/5 it's 240. As I said marginally less ****! Anyway the knockout blow last to first, will be delivered by...................Rivellino in the Stewards Cup. £500 ew please Reebs. Cheers.
I've changed your total Chan, but this throws up a problem - how many more have been wrong using this online calculator?
Sorry mate, that means anyone with an ew payout has lost some cash because the win bet element has come out of the return. Surely best to leave as they are then so at least all have been calculated on the same basis. Far too much work to go back through every ew bet. Apologies, I wish I hadn't mentioned it now.
no prob mate. I have a far bigger problem now! my laptop has just quit, error message says it has no hard drive. I'm typing this on my tablet but this has no spreadsheet program. It may mean someone doing the final day for me My son says he'll pop round in the morning, but he also said that 3 weeks ago for something else, and i'm still waiting!
Not good. I can do the last day returns for you if you want. Bear in mind the cheeky accusations above (which I've 'liked') maybe for the best as you're in contention
that would be great if you could Chan! Give yourself the extra 100 as you were the only one to spot it! It is weird though - i had a 5-1 placed ew bet myself today and that calcu'ator correctly said zero profit. Oh well
£140 profit is correct (ie £340 returned on the place bet but £100 win bet lost. So if you started with £200, after the bet you would have £340 (ie £140 profit). However, in your comp if it is taken as 2 bets the £100 win bet produces no profit and the £100 place bet produces £240 profit
Third, Gents, that's me THIRD! I've learnt a lot in 12 months and this week has been just superb, thoroughly entertaining. So, same again, all the races, even with Minding sure to win? Of course! To be third at this point is fantastic for me, so Saturday's selections are "Tilting at Windmills". No surprises here. 2.00 Barnet Fair £100 e/w 2.35 Regal Monarch £100 e/w 3.10 Jemayel £25 e/w 3.45 Kimberella £125 e/w 4.20 Abiento £50 e/w 4.55 Hornsby £50 e/w 6.00 Bathos £100 win I'm off up North East in the morning to visit the in-laws in Blackhall Colliery, so no posts this weekend, I just won't get a chance. Me and the better half are getting a night off from the kids too, staying over in Durham city centre for a meal and about 18 hours sleep I reckon. Thanks very, very much to Reebs for running the compo. What a cracking few days it has been! My only regret was not lumping more on Mehmas, should have kept the faith there. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Thanks Ron, it was doing me swede! Each way is one bet in my book, but quite why it works out differently i'm not sure. The downside is that if it wins, you get a higher return doing it my way lol Anyway .... my selection ....,all eggs in one basket, and hoping Red doesn't just copy ... Shabbah 500 ew Good luck all
