Are "older men" in fashion at the moment? I've had no end of younger ladies (late teens and 20 somethings) be very flirty with me recently. Disproportionately more black girls than white too. I always get the occasional flirty girl because of my English accent but it seems almost every young lady I encounter is flirting recently. I'm in my late 30s so it seems a little odd to suddenly get the interest from the younguns. Are older men fashionable for millenials at the moment or is this some weird coincidence?
Silly me - I was thinking of the eponymous protagonist of One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
Back in the 1960's when he was in his late 30's he might have had same experience. Thought he could shed some light if it was a new thing or happens in every decade.
I've long since realised the futility of attempting to share my wisdom on here. Your tag didn't work, btw.
Hmmm, I think women are always, alright not always but fairly often, attracted to older guys ... men mature later than women/girls so fellas their own age often seem very immature. Are you attached? If not you should be flirting back and looking to take it further if you like any of em, indeed if you like younger women American girls def love that accent though, I've known a few who if they didn't have to go back to living like a thousand miles and over a sea away stuff might have happened with It depends what they're after though. Older guys are probably seen as better prospects for a serious relationship due to said better maturity and being more established ... Younger guys and **** bois remain exactly that, fun but women/girls know they'll mess up at some point due to inexperience, lack of knowledge and immaturity Had a few younger girls interested lately, couple recently who with hindsight were obviously just wanting to play around, cock-tease whatever but were fun, got one at the moment who is texting me like a fiend right now who seems actually really great and cool and I actually like quite a bit, now I'm worried thanks to you that she's looking at me like a new dress
I'm married/taken... Not looking so not really flirting back. I used to be a flirt when single but nowadays I wouldn't know how. I was buying falafel mix at World Market and the cashier said something about never having had Falafel but she'd love to try it if I cooked it for her. i felt like I should say something clever back but brain went blank. Another time (not one of the recent ones) at a convenience store one bumped into me not looking where she was going apologised and then said "actually, I'm not sorry, I bumped you on purpose, then winked and walked off". I thought of some clever replies but not until after she had left. I just stood there smiling like an idiot. I've lived here 20+ years so used to occasional girl liking the accent but the ammount of girls hitting on me the last few months is waaaay more than normal and they're all too young for me to be interested anyway even if I wasn't attached. I'm nothing too special to look at so I'm a little puzzled by sudden spike in attention... And all of it from girls 10 to 20 years younger than me. Nothing about me has changed so all I can think is that it's en vogue to date older me right now.
you getting some grey hair in? do you look like you are dressed expensively? (your wife's influence can sadly for her get you women) do you not have a wedding ring? If you add the accent, smart cloths and a touch of grey and those girls are gagging for it. Mythbusters of course showed this in a study where they put job titles up and women showed they were far more attracted to guys with jobs that sound well paid. Women are shallow as well in other words.
I have a slight speckling of grey hairs, not many- which really has only appeared the last year. I always dress decent for work. (not suit and tie but button shirt and trousers). I haven't worn a ring in years. I hated wearing it- fell behind bed where I couldn't get it for months then when I did get it out I never started wearing it again. Speaking of girls being shallow. I've seen studies like that where they show girls photos of a guy and tell them he's a Dr and they rate his looks 9/10. Then show second group same photo and tell them he's a dustbin man and they rate same photo 4/10. A control group have him like a 6. Another study I read about. Similar idea. But instead of being told the job they were told that OTHER girls rated the guy a 9. Or OTHER girls rated the guy a 6. On average girls find attractive guys that other girls think is attractive. (being attractive to a girl has more to do with their perception of what other girls think of you rather than what they think... Which probably explains why there are bubbles every so often where all girls go crazy for DiCaprio, or Bieber, etc... Or even ugly guys like Cumberbatch or Matt Smith suddenly get huge girl followings). They did this with guys and found there is no correlation between who a guy finds attractive and who he is told other guys find attractive.
DEFFO the grey hair man... you are describing smart casual as well. you look better than 90% of the guys thier age and well to do... those money whores. I think for sure there is a lesson here. some men are using grey hair products to make out they have grey hair to get higher wages too... well known fact that.
Was reading that the thing that makes guys more attractive to women is high levels of mindfulness and also high level of storytelling ability Another study agreed with the higher status, being a bit older stuff too
Older men have always been in fashion......as long as they're wedged up. A lot of women are largely fickle ****ers, if you look the part (they always notice expensive shoes) look well for your age then there's interest, if they find out you've got a few quid, then get ready.... I ****ing hate those gold digger types, slags.
