I know we're heartedly waiting to hear news that the likes of Budorov, Matilla and even Nando have moved on. However, the latest name in the frame is not only a surprise but would be incredibly disappointing - Georgie Williams please log in to view this image The rumours are that Paul Trollope fresh from Euro acclaim with Wales, wants wee Georgie at Cardiff. George didn't play in that competition but Trollope will have seen plenty of him from the coaching angle and nor has George featured much for us in the last four years. A serious injury at the start of last season while on loan didn't help of course and I for one really hoped that Slavi would get him back into the fold this season. That hope still lives on. Nonsensical too. We're not going to make any money on him right now and we're heading into a system next season that actually should suit him. Even if he did leave next season (still disappointing) we'd get at worst the same money and at best significantly more.
Think we can take it that Fernando Amorebieta has gone - as expected to Sporting De Gijon and for about £300k please log in to view this image And, no the wheelchair isn't his. PS Good year was 1905 in our history as well
Both Norwich and the Fulham blog are saying Mc C could be theirs pretty soon. Your thoughts gentleman
Disappointed but not overly so. Ross pretty much single handedly kept us up for the past 2 years but if we keep adding quality signings that Slav so badly craves, we're finally ready to not rely on one player. If Slav doesn't see Ross fitting his system, then it only makes sense to sell if we can get the quoted £15 million. I'd almost be more upset at losing Georgie Williams than I would McCormack. Strange.
And only makes sense if Slavi gets to reinvest that £15m on the players he wants. Big if! At the end of the day it's all speculation because Mac wasn't on the plane from Gatwick to Portugal this afternoon. And why a sideways move to Norwich? What if he's being kept back at Motspur Park to tend to his injured knee? What if the Club are keeping quiet because they don't want it known that their star striker has a serious injury? Big ifs!
At 29 Cottager, a sideways move may be the answer for him ,if he can get a 2/3 yr contract and a good increase in salary My concern is if we got 15m would it go into Khans offshore acc with a little.pocket money for a certain Mr Rigg . (I remain a cynic regarding the hierarchy of FFC until it is proven otherwise)
I listened to Slavi's after-match interview following the Brighton game tonight and he seemed frustrated. It's been on the cards for a McCormack move since the season ended and I think he's off. What Slavi is anoyed about is not having the replacement on board for the pre-season friendlies so he can get them working to how he wants them. I'm quite positive on he players that have been brought in. I think it's an important year for Woodrow and he's had a good time pre-season with England and these friendlies. As someone said though selling McCormack is a risk, we'd have been in League 1 without him. Our big money signings don't normally work out but he's done well for Fulham. Needs an experienced proven goal scorer to replace him. No wonder Slavi's frustrated. As for George Williams that would be big disappointment if he went too. He got that injury just as he was getting a bit of game time and then he worked so hard behind the scenes to get to go to the Euros. We didn't get to see Roberts properly, Dembele just briefly - it would be a real shame if we didn't get a few years of George at the Cottage.
Could be wrong, but that looks like George Williams with the rest of the team heading out from Gatwick yesterday - forefront (with the natty backpack) in picture 11 of the gallery posted by the Club http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2016/july/21/travel-gallery
Derby and Wolves are being linked to a move for Richard Stearman Source: http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/der...ham-defender/story-29564801-detail/story.html please log in to view this image Slavi seems in mixed minds whether to play him at RB or CB. Bottom line though is that he gives the necessary cover so would be strange to sell.
Given that we were linked to several Derby players, perhaps Slavi is willing to let Stearman go if that's the price of getting in someone that he wants more.
A few places reporting that a fee of £12m has been agreed for Ross to move to Norwich. All in all I think it's a fair deal, on the basis that a large chunk is reinvested in the team. Going by our pre season form we haven't exactly missed Ross. This deal would mean we recoup the money we spent on him, good business bearing in mind he turns 30 in a few weeks, and will hopefully allow us to get a suitable replacement.
I agree 12 million is a fair price, a tiny bit more than we paid for him, a player turning 30 value will only decrease. I believe the Mounie deal is waiting on Ross leaving so that we be £6 million lets spend the other £6 on a couple more decent players and move on!
News from Norwich: "Basically on McCormack, we've agreed personal terms, haven't yet agreed a fee, possibly waiting for them to sign striker." But ... for how much? ... and which striker? ... Hardly a done deal!
I'd be disappointed if he joined Villa. I thought his reasoning was that he wanted to eventually play in the premiership. I can see Villa doing a Fulham and won't be straight back up.
