Saw the game thanks to Inda's link, first half was sloppy though that's understandable considering it was our first "proper" pre-season game against top opposition. Ball and CCV struggled early on but grew into the game, I counted two bad mistakes by Ball and one by CCV but considering they were up against Dybala who was supported by Pjanic, there's no shame in making the odd mistake or two against guys like that, aside from those mistakes I thought they begin to look more at ease and CCV in particular made a couple of decent tackles, he really is a unit and I think with more game time, I can definitely feel at ease with him being the 4th choice CB option. Janssen didn't have much service in either half but he chased down well, something that Poch will appreciate.

Second half was much better and more Pochy-Spurs, we pressed high and won the ball a lot, did leave us open at times but I thought Wanyama - who was excellent in my opinion - dealt with a lot and helped the two young CB's as much as possible. Lamela massively helped make the difference, his chasing down was an example for young players and his movement was sharp, took his goal well, looks as though he's ready for the season to start already! Onomah was also really good, took on a number of players with ease and done a few nice passes, as did Winks. Edwards looked like a bloody mascot had got onto the pitch but you can tell the kid has serious potential. Yedlin didn't look too bad either, think his loan stint at Sunderland has helped his understanding of the English game and his positional awareness a lot better. Harrison had two good opportunities when he came on and looked pretty sharp, could've got a bit more on his shot I think and if he'd have taken a step back when Winks knocked the ball over the top he'd have connected with the header, a shame Janssen didn't get one of those chances as I'd have liked to have seen if he'd have finished it like his pedigree would suggest.

Overall it was an OK performance, a lot of the young lads didn't look out of their depths which is a great sign and kudos to Poch/ John McDermott for the work in getting them ready, Wanyama and Lamela looked really good and I'm sure Janssen will have a chance against Atleti.

After yesterday's game a few sources have brought up that Will Miller played Oliver Twist in the BBC adaptation back in 2007.

Says all you need to know about journalism, really - that fact's been freely available online ever since he joined our academy four years ago...

HBIC that was mentioned in the local broadcast here in oz. Bit of trivia - Michael Bridges (ex Leeds &Sunderland) was one of the local co-commentators - he is a Spurs fan because when he was growing up in the N/E Chris Waddle was his hero so when Waddle joined us Bridges started to support and has ever since.

Seen a few comments wondering about why Lamela was on tour when others with similar workloads were left....
Has anyone considered that maybe he wanted to go? The lad seems to have a good work ethic and pulled his Spurs career around last season after, frankly, completely lost the first season. Maybe he liked what his hard work achieved last season and wants to repeat it with another step-up?

Definitely something in the Chelsky water.
Fibreglas was hardly known for such aggression at Barca or the Goons.

"Why are you shouting at me, boss? I did exactly what you said."
"No, Cesc. I told you to tackle like Kante.

Based on his disciplinary record, yes he has
    Arsenal: 50 yellows, 1 red
    Barca: 28 yellows, 0 reds
    Chelsea: 21 yellows, 2 reds
    Spain: 16 yellows, 0 reds

What do you have to do to get booked for Barca? Curb stomp somebody against the advertising hoardings?

Commit about 4 red card offences, if Suarez v Atletico was anything to go by:

    Years Team Apps
    2003–2011 Arsenal 212
    2014– Chelsea 76

So he should have totalled about 60 yellows and 6 reds at the Goons, if his Chelsky form
was the pattern. So Thames Water definitely need to be getting down to the Fridge ...

His total at Arsenal would've likely been higher if he didn't have three straight seasons where he was injured for a decent chunk of their fixtures.

Wimmer's black eye has been good news for some of the Development players that traveled.

Surely he's not out because Jannsen gave him a black eye?

We want opponents to believe Spurs are so hard they give each other black eyes in training
and merely go meh about it. :)

    Onomah hits the crossbar.

This has been some decent stuff so far.
